Personality in Organizational Settings

extraversion, openness to experience, agreeableness and conscientiousness. O Application and use of FFM in org job performance, job commitment, voluntary turnover, absenteeism etc O attitudes to change depends on individuals change schemata O Schemata significantly dependent on personality traits

EI in Workplace
O EI ability to monitor ones own and

others emotions to discriminate among them and to use the info. to guide ones thinking and actions. O EI non cognitive intelligence intra-personal skills, inter-personal skills, adaptability, stress management and general mood (optimism, happiness) O people with high levels of EI experience more career success

O Organistional volatility, change and EI

evidence suggests EI can contribute to competitve advantage. O Individual difference construct of EI has the potential to contribute to a better understanding of the affective implications of a change policy. H2: Attitudes toward org. change will demonstrate positive relationship with use of emotions for problem solving, control of emotion as well as with overall EI Score.

Personal Variables

education are more positive towards organizational change. O Cordary positive relationship between years in education and acceptance of org. change. O Iverson no relationship between gender and attitudes to change. H4: tenure will be negatively associated with attitudes towards organizational change. H5: Attitude towards org. change will demonstrate significant association between different levels of education. H6: there will be no significant difference between male and female regarding attitude towards org. change

Findings:
O Confirmed relationships among FFM, EI

and attitudes towards org change proving need for an individual level approach to managing change O Positive relationship between individual characteristics and attitudes to change which contribute to success of change.
