Utility:
various security

CURRENT PRACTICES
Generally, license plate recognition consists of two
separate parts.
First, plates have to be located within the image,
termed license plate detection followed by license
plate character recognition, determining the plate
number.
LPR systems normally consist of the following
units:
Camera(s) - that take the images of the car (front
or rear side)
Illumination - a controlled light
Frame grabber - an interface board between the
camera and the PC
Computer - normally a PC running Windows or
Linux..
Software - the application and the recognition
package.
(target of our application)
Hardware - various input/output boards used to
interface the external world

VISION CHALLENGES
Vehicle speed
Volume of vehicle flow
Ambient illumination (day, night, sun,
shadow)
Weather
Vehicle type (passenger car, truck,
tractor-trailer, etc.)
Plate mounting (rear only or front and
rear)
Plate variety
Plate jurisdiction (and attendant fonts)
Camera-to-plate distance
Plate tilt, rotation, skew
Intervehicular spacing
Presence of a trailer hitch, decorative
frame, or other obscuring factors
OUR SOFTWARE IS BASED ON
NEURAL NETWORK CONCEPT
ABOUT THIS NEURAL NETWORK
MODEL
Taking Inputs:
It receives a number of inputs.
Each input comes via a connection that has
a strength (or weight).
Each neuron also has a single threshold
value.
The weighted sum of the inputs is formed,
and the threshold subtracted, to compose
the activation of the neuron .
Producing Output :
