PROJECT GUIDE
INTRODUCTION
Processing of digital images by means of digital computer refers to digital image processing. Digital images are composed of finite number of element of which has a particular location value. The process of collision detection involves several periodic iterations of information transfer through DIGITAL IMAGE PROCESSING

IMAGE CAPTURE
BLOCK DESCRIPTION
LIGHT SPECTRUM ANALYSIS
A combination of several different wavelengths of light traveling together.
The visible light spectrum ranges from short-wavelength violet to long-wavelength red.
LIGHT PROJECTION
The light projection is a function that describes the amount of light traveling in every direction through every point in space.
CAMERA CALIBRATION
Primarily , finding the quantities internal to the camera that affect the Image Processing.
Position of image centre in the image which is typically not at (width / 2 ,height / 2) of the image. Focal Length
Different Scaling factors for row pixels and column pixels. Lens Distortion.
IMAGE CAPTURE
An image capture device Electronically captures and selects a desired text portion.
a document to enable a user to position the light image relative to the desired text portion.
At least some of the text is captured in accordance with a position of the light image.
A text selector selects the desired text portion from the captured text.
IMAGE ANALYSIS
Image Analysis is when a computer or electrical device automatically studies an image obtain useful information from it. . It gives us the exact shape and size of the object.
to
Detailed Analysis of the Image no .1 with Shape , Size ,Width and Height
Detailed Analysis of the Image no.2 with Shape , Size , Width and Height
Detailed Analysis of the Image no .3 with Shape , Size , Width and Height
TABLE FOR DIFFERENT WIDTH AND HEIGHT OF THE OBJECT BEEN DETECTED
SR NO
WIDTH (w)
HEIGHT (h)
DISTANCE (cm)
1 2 3 4 5
49 63 63 138 144
52 67 67 137 124
65 55 55 25 20
When the shape and size of the object increases above the required threshold limit it gives us an Collision course warning. When the Width = 49 and Height = 52 , Distance = 65cms. When the Width = 63 and Height = 67 , Distance = 55cms. When the Width = 138 and Height = 137, Distance = 25cms. When the Width = 144 and Height = 124, Distance = 20cms. When the Distance comes in the range of Threshold which is 25 cms it will give an Collision Course Warning. Level
ADVANTAGES
Collision system for vehicles, advantageously for road and/or train vehicles, suitable for preventing accidents at intersections between vehicles that go in converging directions. It is less Complex and Cheaper than LASER system
DISADVANTAGES
Knowledge of digital image processing is required , experts can only use it properly.
APPLICATIONS
Robotics. It can be used in heavy vehicles like cranes, earthmovers etc to prevent accidents and for their safe working in public places. Collision systems can be used as a tracking device.
CONCLUSION
1. The Collision Detection system using DIGITAL IMAGE PROCEESING is used to know the shape, size, distance and speed of the object to avoid Collision. 2. It is necessary to keep an minimum distance between the approaching object so as to avoid the collision course between them.
