 Outline

At the end of the week, you will be able to:

 discuss on what podcast and podcasting are
 explore and get familiar with voice tools and recorders   
 create a podcast with Audacity
 export mp3 files, edit podcasts, add jingles and effects.
 produce a short intro podcast, host and embed it into their e-
portfolio (Wordpress) and to their Glogsters' intros.    
 produce a Skype mp3 file based on an EFL interview, host
and embed it into the course blog (Blogger).
 send voice messages to their classmates and course
facilitator by using web-based audio recorders.

 What is a podcast?

A podcast is a series of digital media files (digital

audio or video) available for download via web
syndication. It is generally in mp3 o AAC format.
Podcasts, videocasts or vodcasts can be
downloaded and retrieved later by the user in a
computer, laptop, mobile phone, ipod or any
portable audio device.

friendly and easy to use.

Create a podcast with Audacity

and publish it on Podbean.

 Steps to follow

 Go to Audacity.
 Download the free version of Audacity 1.2.6 or 1.3
Beta (Unicode) and the lame.dll file
 Create your audio file. See the following slide.
 Go to http://www.podbean.com/
 Sign up, confirm your account request and log in.
 Then, follow the tutorial to publish your podcast.

Audacity

What do we need?

Downloading the free

version of Audacity
1.2.6 or 1.3 Beta
(Unicode) and having
the lame.dll file.

First, get familiar with Audacity tools and
go to Edit > Preferences

In preferences, click on channels
and select 1 (Mono) and accept

Click on the mic icon and select
vertical stereo

Start by clicking on the record button

To save your project, click on File > Export

Name and tag your audio file, and
click on Accept.

The file will be saved as MP3.
Be aware of the folder where it is being
saved.

Your MP3 file is ready, yeah!!!!
Now let’s upload it to
Podbean
 Sign up to Podbean.com or log in.

 Click on Publish a podcast.

 Click on Publish a new show

Add a title to your podcast, some tags a
short description and select your mp3
file from your PC or laptop

your mp3 file…

Once the post is saved, click on
View site

Go back to the main menu and
click on Manage.

on the Embed code tab.

player to your blogs, websites and text link for
email messages.

to get the URL.
