 Lewin’s change model includes a three-step approach
to change management known as Unfreeze, Change,

circumstances to stay the same. It is therefore
important for companies to implement change
carefully. (=an argument).

You may come across several different


concepts on the same theme. You might
need to compare concepts in order to
decide which is most compelling.

 Knowledge of the world is constructed based on
individual experiences. (=a concept/theory)
 Our brain prefers images over texts. According to
neuroscience research that is referenced in John
Medina’s “Brain Rules”, participants in studies only
remember about 10% of information presented orally
when they are tested 72 hours after instruction.
However, that number jumps by about 65% when an
image is added to the learning process. (=an argument).

the writer’s opinion.
 Types of essay:
 Narrative essay: Tell a story or impart information about your
subject in a straightforward, orderly manner, like in a story.
 Persuasive essay: Convince the reader about same point of view.
 Expository essay: Explain the reader how to do a given process.
 Descriptive essay: Focus the details of what is going on.

Other Types of Essay

 Argumentative essay: Take a position on a controversial issue and


present evidence in favor of your position.
 Compare and Contrast essay: Identify similarities and differences
between two subjects that are, typically, under the same umbrella.
 Problem Solution essay: Describe a problem, convince the reader to care
about the problem, propose a solution, and be prepared to dismantle
objections.
