 These components interact together to achieve a common goal –
To streamline and improve organizations' business processes.
 There are several ERP solutions available for different
requirements:
Examples:
Oracle Applications – For financial purpose
Siebel – For CRM and Analytics
PeopleSoft – HRMS
JD Edwards – For Manufacturing, Finance
 SAP is the ERP solution for all these functionalities in one package

 SAP : Systems, Applications and Products in Data
Processing

 SAP was founded in 1972 in Walldorf, Germany.

 SAP R/3 is designed to handle all of the business management
tasks of a company, e.g. the payment of invoices, the management
of production resources and the control of financial accounts.
 Initially SAP was developed for large and mid-size companies, but
now SAP is even available for smaller industries.
 SAP R/3 handles these tasks using interlinked application
modules. Their initials often refer to the modules. For example, SD
is Sales and Distribution. MM is Materials Management.
 SAP is a table drive customization software and therefore it is very
flexible.
 Integration and upgrade from Legacy systems possible.

hierarchy
Report any system related errors to hierarchy below.

BASIS / NetWeaver Administrators:

Take care of systems well-being.
Resolve all system errors.
Take care of backups, upgrades or new
installations.
Do not deal with programming.
