Purpose: to address friendship and relationship issues amongst female students


Goal: to create strong bonds between female participants to encourage compassion,
community, optimism, respect for diversity, empathy and empowerment

◦All 10 third-grade female students participated
in each Girl CODE lesson for 30 minutes during
lunch recess and lunch. If a student was
absent during group, she came and visited
with me during another lunch time about what
we covered.

◦ Exit tickets: Exit tickets collected at the end of every session
showed comprehension of each session subject. (Meeting

Implications/Conclusion
◦ This small group helped build a
sense of positive friendships and
relationships among female
students.
◦ The level of relational aggression
decreased 60% from 10 reports per
week to 4 reports per week.
◦ Would definitely do this group
again! Maybe better fit for older
students (4th, 5th, Middle School)
