 APB PROTOCOL

• APB Protocol is Advanced Peripheral Bus.

• It’s a low bandwidth .
• For connecting the memory devices and UART etc.
• It’s a unpipelined bus.
• The request is generated by the AHB2APB Bridge.
• It consist of 10 signals for the transfer of data.
• 3 output signals and 7 input signals.

• Bridge acts as an interfaces between protocol.

• The requirement of the interface is due to the different
bandwidth.
• Due to different types of transfer and frequency of the transfers.
• These interfaces acts as an master to the ABP slave & slave for
the AHB Lite master.
• To synchronize the both the protocol.

• AHB Lite is the subset of AHB.

• Single master interface.(multiplexer isn’t required for MTOS).
• No arbiter.
• HBUREQ signal not present.
• HGRANT signal is absent .
• HLOCK signal is tied to HMASTLOCK.
