 VOCAB TERMS
Rangers- In this book rangers are highly skilled archers that
make even the most superior militia archers seem terrible. They
have the ability to move around unseen because of mottled
cloaks they wear that camouflage them with their surroundings.
For this reason they are sometimes referred to as ghosts.
Arridi- a group of warriors that are fiercely devoted to their
leader
Tualaghi- a cruel warrior like group of bandits and theives who
are feared widely by other tribes and are known for their
reputation of being cruel
Khoresh Bedullin- a group of noble hearted proud people that
help Will rescue his friends
Aseikh-means leader in the bedullin language; the headsman of
the bedullin people

Wakir- means leader in the Arridi language

Araluen- the most powerful of the fiefs in the story
Oberjarl- means leader in the Scandinavian language
Keffiyeh- a piece that covers the face and protects it
form sand
Al Shabah- a fief in a sandy region of the world
 CHARACTERS
WILL- Will is a ranger, a group of people that are mysterious and
extremely dangerous. Other people fear them because of their legendary
skills. Will embarks on extremely dangerous missions and is the most
spectacular student the rangers have ever scene
HALT- Halt is Will’s teacher and mentor. Halt is the most famous and
fabled ranger. Tales are told of him being eight feet tall and heavily
muscled. However most people are disappointed when they meet halt who
is really a slightly short grumpy but excellent mentor
UMAR ib’n Talud- Aseikh to the Bedullin people” heled rescue will from
the desert, and decides to help him rescue his friends
Wakir Seley el’then- a.k.a. Selethen; the captain of the Arridi guard and
the person who organized to have Erak captured
Svengal- A Scandinavian who goes to the Araluens to orgaize a ransom for
his Oberjarl, Erak, to be set free

Crown Princess Cassandra-a.k.a. Cassie, a.k.a. Evalyn, King

Ducan’s daughter that is sent on the mission to negotiate the Erak’s
Rasnom with Selethen in his place
Horace- Wills closest male friend that is a knight in Araluen, he
embarks on the journey as Cassandra’s personal body guard
Cillan- A ranger that was Halts former student, and is especiialy
good at stealth he is also a friend of wills
Erak- The Oberjarl of Skandia
 Setting
IN THE BEGINNING…
In the beginning, this story takes place in the Araluen fief. A place that is
rich in vegetation and is extremely prosperous both in riches and government.

IN THE MIDDLE…
In the middle, this story takes place in Al Shabah, a kingdom south of
Araluen that has extremely hot mornings and extremely cold nights. Along
with the perils of this kingdom is sandstorms. In the srtoy the Arria fief
created coffee, and therefore make the best and most valuable coffe in the
world.

IN THE END…
In the end, this story once again takes place in the prosperous fief of
Araluen.

 SUMMARY
This story is about a boy named will who embarks on a
dangerous journey with many friends including his teacher and
mentor Halt, a friend and fellow ranger, Gillan, two other
friends, Horace, a night, Svengal a very powerful Scandinavian,
and Cassandra (a.k.a. Cassie) the crown princess of Araluen. The
original mission had been to go and negotiate a ransom for the
Scandinavian Oberjarl, and friend to the Araluens, Erak. Erak
had been captured by the Arridi during a raid, and was taken
prisoner while the rest of his raiding crew was set free to go and
collect a ransom. At first the mission seemed aordinary as the
group encountered Wakir Seley el’then the catptain of the Arrida
guard. However , things took a twisting turn for the worse when
Erak was captured by a more dangerous group called the
Tulaghi.
 SUMARY (CONTIUED)
The situation further escalated when selethen, Halt,
Gillan, Cassandra, Svengal, and Horace were captured.
Selethen’s army was then sent into the dessert without shoes
and only two skeins of water. As the dangerous mission
begins Will finds himself fighitng for his life and his friends
agains the terrible Tulaghi with his newly found allies the
Khoresh Bedullin. The Khoresh Bedullin help defeat the
Tulaghie with the help of the cast away Arridi army. After
order is restored and Princess Cassandra divides rewards
amongst the people who helped her escape, she and her
entourage then traveel back to the land of Araluen where
will is presented with a silver Oakleaf and is deemed a full
fledged ranger.
 OPINION
In my opinion this story is phenomenal. The story Is action packed
and keeps you turning pages never wanting to put the book down. After
reading the first page I was immediately hooked. The intense
descriptions let me make detailed pictures in my mind, and the whole
thing was like a movie, only better because it was a movie that I had
created with my own imagination.
 Recommendation
I would give this book 4.5 stars out of 5. I
thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and would
recommend this book to anyone who likes
reading books with lots of sword fighting action,
olden itme periods, and devastating heroics.
