This document describes a study that examined the predictive validity of rating scales and computer-based diagnostic tools for assessing ADHD and reading fluency. 91 undergraduate students completed Conners' Adult ADHD Rating Scales (CAARS), the Automated Neuropsychological Assessment Matrices (ANAM) continuous performance test, and the Woodcock-Johnson III reading fluency test. Correlation analyses found some significant relationships between CAARS and ANAM scores and reading fluency scores. Regression analyses found that only ANAM procedural reaction time scores predicted a small amount of variance in reading fluency scores. Sobel regression models did not find evidence that ANAM and CAARS scores provided shared predictive information about reading fluency.
