* The aim of the project is to the fabrication of lubrication oil

cooling system . A lubrication system is a heat rejection device

which rejects waste heat to the atmosphere through the cooling

of a oil stream to a lower temperature. Lubrication systems may

either use the evaporation of oil to remove process heat and cool

the working fluid to near the wet-bulb air temperature or, in the

case of closed circuit dry lubrication systems, atmospheric air to

cool the working fluid to near the dry-bulb air temperature.

* To design and fabricate the lubrication oil cooling system.

* To cool the oil by cooler.

* Automatic system by temperature sensor

* Safety system in automobiles and industries

*
Overheating of machine elements is common problem in
industry. It is caused due to continuous operation of
machine and atmospheric conditions of the
surroundings. Operation cannot be stopped or in other
words the machine cannot be given time to be cooled
down and therefore there has to be provision for
cooling. Oil is the best cooling medium as it is cheap and
available in abundance. However it has to be noted that
continuous flow of fresh oil to the machine is not
advisable as it creates great waste.
*

Lubrication system is used to fulfil the purpose of cooling with

minimum usage of fresh oil. It circulates fresh oil for cooling to
the machine and uses least make up oil that is lost due to
evaporation. Apart from industry cooled oil is needed for, for
example, air conditioners, or power generation. A lubrication
system is the equipment used to reduce the temperature of a
oil stream by extracting heat from oil and emitting it to the
atmosphere.
*

Lubrication is the process or technique employed to reduce friction

between, and wear of one or both, surfaces in proximity and moving
relative to each other, by interposing a substance called a lubricant
in between them. The lubricant can be a solid, a solid/liquid
dispersion, a liquid such as oil or water,

With fluid lubricants the applied load is either carried by pressure

generated within the liquid due to the frictional viscous resistance
to motion of the lubricating fluid between the surfaces, or by the
liquid being pumped under pressure between the surfaces
*

A good lubricant generally possesses the following

characteristics:
A high boiling point and low freezing point (in order to
stay liquid within a wide range of temperature)
A high viscosity index.
Thermal stability.
Hydraulic stability.
Demulsibility.
Corrosion prevention.
A high resistance to oxidation.

MOTOR
A motor is an electric motor that produces on current electricity.
motors were used to run machinery, often eliminating the need
for a local steam engine or internal combustion engine. motors
can operate directly from electric power. Modern motors are
nearly always operated in conjunction with power electronic
devices.

A small, electrically powered pump

A pump is a device that moves fluids (liquids or gases),

or sometimes slurries, by mechanical action. Pumps can
be classified into three major groups according to the
method they use to move the fluid: direct lift,
displacement, and gravity pumps.
*

* The tip of the sensor is probably located right next to the

engine coolant. The sensor works by measuring the
temperature that's being given off by the thermostat
and/or the coolant itself. The temperature is then sent
to the on-board control system.
*A temperature sensor plays an important role in many
applications. For example, maintaining a specific
temperature is essential for equipment used to fabricate
medical drugs, heat liquids, or clean other equipment. For
applications like these, the responsiveness and accuracy of
the detection circuit can be critical for quality control.
*
* Cooling Fan
*A mechanical fan is an electrically powered machine used to
create flow within a fluid, typically a gas such as air. A fan
consists of a rotating arrangement of vanes or blades which act
on the air fluid. The rotating assembly of blades and hub is
known as an impeller, a rotor, or a runner. Usually, it is
contained within some form of housing or case. This may direct
the airflow or increase safety by preventing objects from
contacting the fan blades. Most fans are powered by electric
motors,

The process of oil cooling occurs mainly as the result of the

evaporation of a small amount of cooled oil to the air
stream (transport of mass), making the use of the heat
of phase transition (heat of vaporization), which is
collected from the oil stream and to a lesser extent as
the result of convective heat transfer form
* ADVANTAGES
* Higher Performance
* Simple in construction
* No cfc gas
No artificial coolant system
*Applications
* It can be used in all automobiles

*Industries
*

The fabrication of oil cooling system and its

characteristics showed that how it can be properly
designed and used to get the maximum output. Since it
eliminates the global warming problem.
