When the scantool made the attempt to
communicate with the vehicle, the
headlamps illuminated and the
windshield wipers would sweep.

well as CAN IHS.

All feeds and grounds were checked as
well as serial data. All information was
noted as good. It appears the TIPM has
failed. The unit was replaced and
attempts to scan the vehicle were
attempted again.

attempt to communicate with the vehicle
after the TIPM replacement, the
headlamps illuminated and the
windshield wipers would sweep once.

there are no more WIN codes or
PCM related codes
 CAN IHS line has noted issues
 We are able to communicate with
the PCM with the Witech POD
 EPA is not able to communicate
with the PCM on this vehicle.

Repair attempt of CAN IHS
 All modules on the CAN IHS line
have been taken off of the BUS one
by one.
 The CAN IHS is scoped again and it
still has data corruption.
 The proper wire was backed out of
the TIPM and a measurement was
made at the TIPM pin, there was
still corruption noted on this wire.

Conclusion
 Further analysis would be needed to
draw an accurate conclusion.
 This observer suspects that the CAN IHS
corruption is impeding communication
with the PCM via the EPA test.
 Several Generic scantools
communicated with the PCM
 The Witech POD communicated with the
PCM
 CAN B appears to be riding on another
signal
