About UK
★ The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland,
commonly known as the United Kingdom (UK) or Britain, is a
sovereign country in western Europe.
★ The UK is a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary
democracy.
★ The UK is a developed country and has the world's fifth-
largest economy by nominal GDP and ninth-largest economy
by purchasing power parity.

elements of distinctive traditions, customs and symbolism.

United Kingdom, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.

❖ The UK has a partially regulated market economy.
❖ Based on market exchange rates, the UK is today the fifth-
largest economy in the world and the second-largest in
Europe after Germany.
❖ HM Treasury, led by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, is
responsible for developing and executing the government's
public finance policy and economic policy.
Demographics
❖ A census is taken simultaneously in all parts of the UK every
ten years.
❖ In the 2011 census the total population of the United
Kingdom was 63,181,775.
❖ It is the third-largest in the European Union, the fifth-largest
in the Commonwealth and the 22nd-largest in the world. In
mid-2014 and mid-2015 net long-term international
migration contributed more to population growth.
Population Of UK
❖ Predicting the 2018 population of UK is not easy but we can
get the idea after analysing the population from the year 2013
– 17.
❖ As we have seen that every year the population increases by
approximate 0.494 Million people.
❖ Hence, the population of UK in 2018 is forecast to be 66.57
Million + 0.494 Million = 67.064 Million. So, the population of
UK in the year 2018 as per estimated data is 67.064 Million.
