Moment-Area Theorem

Theorem 1
The angle in radians or the change in slope between the
tangents at two points on the elastic curve of an
originally straight member is equal to the M/EI
(curvature) area between those two points.

Theorem 2
The deflection of a point on the elastic curve from the
tangent at another point on the elastic curve, measured
in the direction perpendicular to the originally straight
member, is equal to the moment of the M/EI area
between those two points about the point where the
deflection occurs.
