its structure, functions, members,
objectives, history and powers or
scope.
WHAT IS ASEANAPOL?
-An historic agreement between
INTERPOL and the Asean Chiefs of
police (ASEANAPOL) means that
information stored in the electronic
Aseanapol Database system (e-ADS)
will be accessible to law enforcement
worldwide via INTERPOL's secure
global police communications system.
ASEANAPOL FUNDING
-From 1981 to 2009 the ASEANAPOL
member hosting the annual summit
covered the associated costs and
staffing. In 2010 It is permanent
established in kuala lumpur with
malaysia.
- ASEANAPOL had five member when
it was established in 1981. Between
1984 and 2000 its membership
doubled.
-ASEANAPOL also has 7 dialogue
partners, 5 national police
forces.(from Australia, China, Japan,
New Zealand, South korea) and 2
organizations (INTERPOL and the
ASEAN secretariat).
ASEANAPOL PURPOSE
- Is to improve regional cooperation
in the prevention and combating of
transnational crime.

The Function of Secretariat
• To ensure the effective implementation of all
resolution adopted at the ASEANAPOL
conference.
• Serve as a coordination and communication
mechanism.
• Foster mutual assistance and cooperation
among members.
• Endeavour to increase regional cooperation
efforts against transnational crime.
ASIANAPOL CONFERENCE
- The conference shall be held
annualy on a rotational basis amongst
members countries. The conference will
be attended by the Chiefs of police.

active in South - East Asia some aim to
establish an Islamic "Caliphate".
encompassing the malay peninsula,Indonesia
and Southern Philippines .The regions also
faces a new growing threat posed by returnees
from conflict zones in Iraq and syria.

organization such as ASEANAPOL
is highly functioning or helping in
combating the transnational
crimes especially to those
countries that has a vulnerability
measure of security against crimes
involving other countries.
