Plot

• Introduction – A story line begins


• Conflict – There is a conflict either
internal conflict or external conflict
• Resolution – The conflict is resolved
Setting
• Time example a brutal winter
• Place example
• Social or Cultural Context of the story

Characters
• Main characters – fully developed
• Minor characters – not fully developed and
are there to support the main characters
Dialogue
• Dialogue allows the reader to hear
character’s voices, letting the writer reveal
characters through their own words
Narrator
• 1st person narrator – I
• 2nd person narrator – You
• 3rd person narrator – Omniscient narrator
(all knowing narrator)
Point of View
• A set of attitudes from which a story is
written
• 1st person point of view – Your point of
view may be limited to what you as the
writer feel, know, and hear
• 3rd person point of view- The narrator’s
attitude in the story
