ROLES OF PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS:
Taking over parents’ roles
1. Act as a person of reference.

• In school, teachers act as guidance to the pupils. If there is anything that the pupils need

information on, the pupils will refer to the teachers.

• For example, pupils may ask about learning enquiries, their physical development

(puberty) etc.

2. Portray good examples to the pupils (Role model) .

• Attires.

• Manners and etiquette.

3. Motivate and counsel.

• Give encouragement pertaining to their academic matter.

• Provide moral support when needed.

4. Give care and attention to the pupils.

• Give necessary care and attention to all pupils equally.

• Teacher should be aware of the wellbeing of the pupils.

5. Provide safe environment


• Ensure the safety of the pupils in the school.
• Safe and conducive classroom.
• Educate safety precautions (Classroom, computer/science lab, workshop)
