Speaker -one who acts as a spokesperson
Idea - a formulated thought or opinion
Language-a systematic means of communicating ideas or feelings by the use of
conventionalized signs, sounds, gestures, or marks having understood meanings
Sound- the sensation produced by stimulation of the organs of hearing by vibrations
transmitted through the air or other medium.
Soundwaves-a wave that is produced when a sound is made and is responsible for carrying
the sound to the ear
Listener - a person who listens, especially someone who does so in an attentive manner.

Types and Level of Communication

1.Interpersonal communication is the most common type of communication where there is an


exchange of ideas from the sender to the receiver.
They can be categorized into two:

Direct Channels are those that are


obvious and can be easily recognized
by the receiver example ; verbal ,
spoken and written communication.
Indirect Channels are those that are usually recognized subliminally or subconsciously by
the receiver.

Examples:
body language
2.Intrapersonal Communication
It is the language used internally to the communicator it happens when the sender talks to
herself to internalize the information being receive.
Example :
soul searching and meditation
3. Small Group Communication
Refers to the nature of the communication that occurs in group that are between 3- 15
individuals sharing the ideas and information usually in order to come up with a decision or help
solve problems.
Examples:
Conducting a committee meeting
An active class session
Teleconferencing
4. Public Communication or Mass Communication requires a speaker to address the audience having
the purpose to persuade, inform or entertain. Mass communication is for an entirely large audience. It
is usually mediated by audio, and or visual means.

Example:
Meeting de avance of the politician's during electoral campaign
Broadcasting the news on air
The president delivering the SONA
