BACKGROUND & MOTIVATION
Geothermal as alternative energy can reduce dependence
on fuel provide electricity.
Advantages: Renewable, sustainable, and clean.
BACKGROUND & MOTIVATION
 Indonesia which comprise of more than 200 volcanoes has
the largest geothermal potensial

 Objective of this reseach is to estimate electricity power

from a Geothermal resource
METHODS & MATERIALS
Comparative method : estimated based on another
field that has a similar geological conditions
METHODS & MATERIALS
Volumetric method : The calculation is based on the
heat energy content in the rocks and in the fluid (steam
and water) as follows

to
RESULT & DISCUSSION
According to calculation, the data used is the geological
data, such as: contour, large area, and the type of rock.
RESULT & DISCUSSION
other supporting data is geochemistry data

RESULT & DISCUSSION
utilizing the data obtained an approximate calculation
of the amount of electrical energy that can be produced
from a geothermal area.

η = electrical conversion factor

(10%)
CONCLUSION
And the results are obtained by taking example one of
geothermal area (kamojang, west java) is 150 MW
from the prediction calculation 180 MW (using
comparative and volumetric). Thus the methods
discussed can be quite good.
