It is point around which motion takes place
Types - 3
1) x axis or coronal axis
2) y axis or vertical axis
3) z axis or anteroposterior axis
X axis or coronal axis

Frontal axis - passes horizontally from left to right


and is formed by the intersection of the frontal and
transverse planes.
Y axis or vertical axis

Vertical axis - passes vertically from inferior to


superior and is formed by the intersection of the
sagital and frontal plane
Z axis or anteroposterior axis

Sagital axis - passes horizontally from posterior


to anterior and is formed by the intersection of
the sagital and transverse planes.
