Introduction!!
Goodmorning my name is Daija and i'm here to talk about LGBT adoption.

Did you know

States that allow same-sex couples to petition for a second parent adoption
include California, Colorado, Connecticut, Washington D.C., Idaho, Illinois,
Indiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Montana, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma,
Pennsylvania, and Vermont?

Research Question

Should same-sex couples

be allowed to adopt
children?
Thesis Statement
Even though some people believe that same-sex couples cannot provide the upbringing of
a traditional family, same-sex couples should have the same adoption rights as
heterosexuals because barring same-sex couples from becoming parents is discrimination
based on sexual orientation, adoption is a better alternative to orphanage, and same-sex
couples can provide the same home conditions as heterosexual couples.

Conclusion
My conclusion is that same-
sex couples deserve the same
opportunities as all other
couples. As I stated before, if
having parents of the same
gender is disadvantageous to
children in any way, it has
nothing to do with their
parent's gender and
everything to do with
society's reaction to the
family.

Personal Reflection
During my project it was a struggle but I overcame it. The new information I learned was
that men discriminate about gay adoptions more than women but honestly Gay parents
tend to be more motivated and more committed than heterosexual parents. I feel like this
research paper will help me in the future because I have had experience on how to
research and presenting the paper will better me in public speaking.
