Basic things about Basque
country
Basque country is a province at the north of Spain. Basque country is really
different from Spain, and because of that it has been really difficult to deal
with trough history. Basque Country has his own language even if the
Spanish is the language that is spoken, this language is called Euskera. The E.T.A. giving
reason why it isnt so frecuently spoken is because between 1936 and 1939 theyre last
when the dictator Franco was ruling Spain people get killed if you spoke speech o tv in
Euskera because it was consider a sign of revolution. This made people who 2010
new Euskera forgot it and tahts why now a days there are lots of campains to
make Euskera spoken again in the streets.
Also Basque Country use to have a really big agressive movement of
Independence wich was promote by th terrorist organization E.T.A (Euskal
herria ta askatasuna) a really big amount of people were killed in Basque
country because of this and people all around Spain were scared to go to into
Basque Country because you could get killed.
My mother told my that there were protest were people got killed once or
twice a week and that if the Spanish plice heard that you were a
independentist they took you when you were walking in the street and they
carried you to an alley and beat you till you die.
E.T.A. ceasefire in 2010.
Now a days there is only a peaceful movement of Independence.
