Area

Local restaurants: turn right on Risinger for McDonalds, left on Risinger and then left
on McCart for Panda Express, Subway, & Rosas.
The Teachers Tools and Mardel Store are both on Hulen Road.
Although we have many new homes in the area, it is important to note we are still
90% free and reduced lunch.

Building

Please highlight the locations that might be helpful to you on the map, such as teacher
restrooms, the copy room, and teachers in your department.
To order supplies, go through your Instructional Specialist. To obtain basic supplies, go
through Ms. Chico.
Use your phone extensions document to identify key people on campus, such as the
administrators.
To reserve the computer lab, go through Ms. Love. To reserve the library, go through
Ms. Hafer.
Teachers may park on either side of the building. The buses enter at the back of the
building, and parents drop off at the front of the building.

Building Procedures
Your key card works from 6am-11pm Monday-Friday only.
Please see Mr. Lopez if you have not yet obtained a duty schedule, lunch procedures info., and a
red emergency folder.
Each core content teacher must work academic camps; please get the schedule from your
instructional specialist.
Attendance must be marked via Skyward each period.
Doors open at 7:45 for students and teachers should be at their doors to greet them and allow
them to eat breakfast. Students are not officially tardy until 8:15 although if they are in the
building, they need to be in the classroom. Twice a week, use the extra time in the morning to
check their binder organization and their grades.
Teachers must walk students to their assigned lunch table and pick them up from their assigned
lunch table.
You may have pull-outs from your classrooms for various programs; please see your
instructional specialist.
Administrators will communicate important dates and deadlines via the PLCs. Teachers are
encouraged to attend these meetings twice a week.

Access to Resources
For technology problems, use the Help Desk option under Eduphoria. The person in
charge of student technology is Ms. Dudzinski. The Technology Specialist from the
district is Ms. Lewis. Record your log-in and password in a safe place for all your
websites.
You will also use many other sites on Crowley ISD; be sure to explore the Employees
section of the website. Center for Teaching and Learning is another good resource.
We are a 1:1 campus, but students may not bring their laptop charged. Introduce
procedures for this in your classroom and have a back-up plan for students who have
lost their laptop.
See Mr. Lopez for textbooks. Some teacher manuals and resource books are shared
between teachers that teach the same grade/content area, so check with the other
teacher, as well.
The laminator can be used on Fridays only; its in the main office.

Student Discipline
Teachers should be in the hallway each passing period. Students should not be running but
should be moving along to class. Establishing a positive interaction before correcting a
student is most effective.
CHAMPS is utilized at this campus. Please post it in your classroom and refer to it throughout
your instruction.
Students can only have their cell phone out at the teachers request. It is a 15 dollar fine if it
gets taken up and turned into the front office.
Utilize parent conferences for academic and behavioral issues.

Curriculum
Curriculum resources for the core content areas can be found on the Texas Resource System. Please
contact Ms. Newton if you do not have a username and password.
The Instructional Specialist can assist with curriculum. ELA-Ms. Gomez, SS-Ms. Pryor, Science/MathMs. Malveau. You also have a district coordinator for each content area. ELA-Ms. Graves
The OneDrive is utilized for file sharing. You can access by logging onto your email via the website
rather than the shortcut.
Lesson plans should be posted outside your door by Monday at 7:45. The template you use needs
to show gradual release.
Grades should be updated within 5 days of assigning the work. 8 daily grades and 2 major grades
are required each six weeks. See the grading manuals for more detail on the Employees section of
the Crowley ISD website.
The district provides assessments each six weeks, but it is the teachers responsibility to scan the
scantrons and make the copies of the tests. The scantrons are in Eduphoria Aware. The tests are
in the Texas Resource system. Benchmarks will be copied for you.
Post your daily objective and I do, we do, you do on your board.

Absences

If you need to call in sick, request an absence as soon as youre not feeling well as
there is a substitute shortage. Report via Skyward HR and use the subfinder linked
within skyward. Text Ms. Craft and your instructional specialist if you will be out.
Starting the 5th six weeks, text Mr. Lopez and your instructional specialist. Seating
charts should be made. They can be made using the gradebook with photos if desired.
A copy of your seating chart goes in your sub folder.
To request a personal day, you fill out a form available in the copy room and turn into
Ms. Foster in addition to requesting via Skyward HR.
If a substitute is not found, your class will be divided amongst the department. Please
consider that when calling in an absence at the last minute.
