HERBS - PLANT
Herbal medicine, also called botanical medicine or
phytomedicine
Refers to using a plant's seeds, berries, roots, leaves,
bark, or flowers for medicinal purposes.
Herbalism has a long tradition of use outside
conventional medicine.
GARLIC
Garlic is native to Siberia, but spread to other parts of the
world over 5000 years ago. Now, it is used globally all
over the world for medicinal purposes.
BENEFITS OF GARLIC
Can be used for:
Conditions related to the heart and blood system such ashigh blood
pressure,low blood pressure,high cholesterol, inheritedhigh
cholesterol, coronaryheart disease, heart attack, reduced blood flow
due to narrowed arteries,
Common illnesses such as fever, coughs, headache, stomach ache,
asthma, etc.
Fighting stress and fatigue.
To treat fungal infections, warts and corns (when applied to skins or

GINGER
Ginger is native to warmer parts of Asia, such as China,
Japan, and India, but now is grown in parts of South
American and Africa. It is also now grown in the Middle
East to use as medicine and with food.

Reduces the risk of nausea caused by HIV/AIDS treatment and cancer treatment.
Reduces menstrual period pain

GREEN TEA
Green tea is made from un-oxidized leaves and is
one of the less processed types of tea (with white
tea the least) and therefore contains one of the
mostantioxidantsand beneficial polyphenols.
Side effects
People with severe caffeine sensitivities could experienceinsomnia,anxiety,
irritability, nausea orupset stomach.
If taken with stimulant drugs, green tea could possibly increaseblood
pressureand heart rate.
In particular, pregnant or breastfeeding women, those with heart problems
orhigh blood pressure, kidney or liver problems, stomach ulcers, or anxiety
disorders should not take green tea supplements or extracts. 4
Green tea supplements contain high levels of active substances that will
trigger side effects when taken with other herbs, supplements or medications.
Stevia
Stevia is a green, leafy plant that is native to South America.
It has been used for medicinal purposes for many centuries.
The plant has also been bred for its strong, sweet flavor and
used as a sweetener.
The two majorsweet compoundsthat are isolated from the
leaves are called Stevioside and Rebaudioside A. These two
compounds are hundreds of times sweeter than sugar.
