This course provides a fundamental

overview of the values, concepts,


principles, skills and techniques of
file processing and modern database
management systems and of
database (data-driven) business
application system development.

Description of the
Course
Topics include: different architecture of the

relational, hierarchical, and networks


models. Other topics to be covered are
data modeling, design of databases,
analysis of data and the different
management issues of security, integrity,
concurrency control and recovery. Students
will work individually or by group on a
small database management projects
encompassing all phases of database
design and implementation.
