The preterite is used for actions which

were completed in the past. It is also
describes how someone felt about a
particular event.

 We already know how to use verbs in the
present tense.
 We know the verb form endings to use for
present tense regular -ar ending verbs.
 Yo –o

 El, Ella, Ud. -a
 Nosotros -amos*
