Martin Luther King was born in Atlanta, Georgia in United

States. He was born on January 15 (fifteen), of 1929

Family . In Boston he met and married Coretta Scott, a
young woman of uncommon intellectual and artistic
attainments. Two sons and two daughters were born into the
family.

He organized and carried out marches for the right to vote,

other
basic
civil
rights.

King is remembered as one of the greatest leaders and heroes of

King was hated by many whites across the U.S.A and he was
assassinated before the march of April 4 (four), 1968(nineteen
sixty-eight), on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis.

South Africa. King's work was cited by and served as an inspiration
for Albert Lutuli, another black Nobel Peace prize winner who

country.

developed a crucial role in the U.S. at the forefront of
the movement for civil rights for African Americans and
also participated as an activist in numerous protests
against the Vietnam War and poverty in general.
For this activity aimed at ending the American
apartheid and racial discrimination through non-violent
means, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964.
Four years later, at a time when his work was based
mainly on opposition to war and poverty, was
assassinated in Memphis, he was preparing to lead a
demonstration.
