SESAME WORKSHOP INDIA

Galli Galli Sim Sim (Devanagari: ) is the Hindi language adaptation of the
American children's television series Sesame Street (famous for its Muppets), for India.
It is co-produced by Sesame Workshop and Turner Entertainment, through Miditech. The show's
Indian production company is known as Sesame Workshop India.
Sesame Workshop India's mission is to create innovative engaging content that maximizes the
educational power of media to help children reach their highest potential. They are now working
with local experts to identify Indian childrens issues and how to best address them on- and offair.

Galli Galli Sim Sim integrates a three sixty degree strategy to reach children between the
ages of 0-8, especially those that are disenfranchised and under resourced.

Broadcast on two of India's leading channels- Pogo and Cartoon Network, Galli Galli Sim Sim
is further supplemented by a radio program aired on All India Radio and community radio
stations, extensive community outreach, and new and emerging media such as cell phones
and internet.

In addition to this, we provide training and create awareness about early childhood care and
education to parents, teachers and caregivers using a combination of print, audio visual and
social media to ensure a continuum of learning.

The Galli Galli Sim Sim initiative is supported by Turner Broadcasting, the Michael and Susan
Dell Foundation, the MetLife Foundation, Qualcomm, HSBC and the SCHWAB Charitable
Trust.

The show consists of Street scenes, segments (some filmed locally with Indian actors and
children, some Indian animation, some are classic American Muppet skits dubbed in Hindi)
and include four new Indian Muppets specially created for the subcontinent's children.

The puppet characters include Indian boy and girl Muppets, a character based on traditional
Indian folk tales and an animal Muppet.

The initiative combines television and educational outreach to positively impact early
childhood development across five key areas: cognitive learning, social, emotional and
physical development and cultural diversity.

Stay in school, study, work hard; there isnt anything you cant do.
