Indian flag
India's flag was adopted on July 22, 1947, after India became independent from Great Britain. The flag was based upon the design of the flag of the Indian National Congress.
The Indian flag has three equal horizontal bars (saffron, white and green) with a blue Dharma Chakra (the wheel of law) in the center. The wheel has

24 spokes, representing the 24 hours in a day (at the end of each spoke is a dark blue half-moon). The orange (deep saffron) symbolizes courage and sacrifice. The white stands for peace, unity and truth. The green stands for fertility. The blue symbolizes the sky and the ocean.

Greetings- Indian culture is rich and diverse and as a

result unique in its very own way. Our manners, way of communicating with one another, etc are one of the important components of our culture. We greet other people by saying Namaste which means 'Divinity in me, salutes divinity in you' Marriage- For centuries, arranged marriages have been the tradition in Indian society though men and women have always had the choice of who they want to marry. Even today, the majority of Indians have their marriages planned by their parents.

Diwali It is a five day festival that represents the

start of the Hindu New Year. It's known as the "Festival of Lights" for all the fireworks, small clay lamps, and candles that are lit during the celebrations. Ganesh Chaturthi- The spectacular eleven day Ganesh Chaturthi festival honors the birth of the beloved Hindu elephant-headed god, Lord Ganesha.

Holi- is a two day festival that also celebrates the

victory of good over evil, as well as the abundance of the spring harvest season. It's commonly referred to as the "Festival of Colours Dusshera- The first nine days of this festival are known as Navaratri, and are filled with dance in honor of the Mother Goddess. The tenth day, called Dussehra, is devoted to celebrating the defeat of the demon king Ravana by Lord Rama.

India. People think that cricket is religion and Sachin Tendulkar is God. Overcrowded trains with people hanging out the doors. Indians like curry. Indians are corrupted . Education is taken very seriously. People shake their heads and have funny moustache. Indians have poor English accent.

India has no recognised national game or sport.

Indians are big fans of cricket after winning the 1983 world cup, but also other sports are played like hockey, badminton, wrestling and shooting The most popular is cricket.

What makes me proud of India

Birth place of 4 religions

What traditions does me my family have?


My family still wear the Indian traditional clothes in

special occasions. My family and I still eat traditional food like chappathi, naan, curry etc. My family and I also celebrate festivals like Diwali and Holi. We are still crazy fans of cricket.
