Form an Employee Safety Committee

The committee should be large enough to represent different parts of your worksite Try to have equal numbers of management and non-supervisory employees on the committee Ensure that the safety and health staff serves on the committee

Hold regularly scheduled committee meetings

Use an agenda so the discussion is value added and constructive

Conduct regularly scheduled field and yard inspections


Use a checklist Train the committee members to conduct inspections

Involve the committee with helping to solve one or two difficult safety and health problems
