Meet Diya. She is a young MBA Graduate working as a management executive in an MNC. Apparently, she is a normal girl. But if you talk to her personally and observe her behavior, you will not fail to notice a number of her self centered problems. Let us see how she passed her yesterday. In the morning, when she was about to leave her home for office, her younger sister asked her to do some domestic work on her way to office. Diya suddenly got angry at her sister and told her that she usually troubled her whenever she was running out late. The moment she got into to the office, she could come to know that the management had given some important assignment to Seema one of his colleagues. Diya felt jealous of Seema and she could not hide it while she was talking to her other colleagues in the department. In the afternoon her weekly report was returned to her by her boss with a request to rewrite it immediately by incorporating the comments which the boss had written in the margin of that report. Diya read the comment of her boss and felt guilty, depressed and anxious. In the evening when she returned home, she found that her sister had some visitor and she was engrossed in talking to them. She suddenly felt neglected and rejected. She went to her room and sat at her table doing nothing except licking her own wounds. What happened yesterday is a typical example of what happens in the day to day life of Diya. Of course, she knows that the frequent emotional upset which she experiences lower her efficiency at work and keep her in a disturbed state of mind. But she does not know what to do about these emotional upsets.
