Defination: Employee satisfaction is a case in which we have to satisfy our employees, which is very crucial for achievement of short as well as long term organizational goals.

In future, changes in demographics and shifting industrial base will have considerable impact on job satisfaction.
Increase in working women and upcoming trends followed by male employees should be considered and HR managers should adopt to these changing trends to get maximum output. Different factors should be identified and the value of these factors in certain age, gender, industry, career level be understand and make our work environment which matches that particular factors that are most important for our work force.

o People are willing to work more then the usual retirement age. These old age people need healthcare, job security and pensions for job satisfaction. o Baby Boomers, who are next large generation of retirees, plan to do so in later age then current retirees. o Employers are forced to support underfund pension plans which will be difficult in the future due to disappointing earnings and slow economy. o Cost will tend to rise due to these late retirements, and hiring of a bit older employees will be difficult to do. o Problem of age discrimination

o Women usually are caregiver to their family. o Women are getting more professional degrees and also getting jobs with that proportion also and this trend is increasing. o Work/life balance is important for women and they need this for their families in their job. o 44% of young men are also now taking part in caregiving role and this is now not a job of woman in the family. o Employer should think on that and adopt a flexible and equitable approach in work place to keep motivating their employees in future.

o Different industries have different level of job satisfaction. o Industries with high level of job satisfaction will grow and vice versa. o Employees in non-profit, financial and education industries have high level of job satisfaction and in manufacturing industry it is least. o Health sector is tend to grow in future but their employees are not satisfied with their job so it can lead to decline of industry. o As in service sector there are more women work so employers should keep in mind the work/life balance of employees, which is most important for women.

We can work on these less costly factors to attain maximum job satisfaction which will at the end become profitable and beneficial for the organization as a whole.

Valued highly by every age group and most particularly by women In future, in virtual teams concept the value of communication will increase. E-mails and other electronic communication are adding information fatigue. More structured, rigorous methods are needed for truly reliable and usable data. o Increasingly costs of benefits are spiraling out of control. o Companies are running large corporate pension deficits. o Employees give importance to these benefits also which they are getting now e.g. health care cost, pensions etc. o If employees dont get these benefits in future then it will decrease job satisfaction. o Government should do something to decrease this health related issues.
