What is communication?
"We all use language to communicate, to express ourselves, to get our ideas across, and to connect with the person to whom we are speaking. When a relationship is working, the act of communicating seems to flow relatively effortlessly. When a relationship is deteriorating, the act of communicating can be as frustrating as climbing a hill of sand.
Why useful?
Effective communication
Expressing our wants and feelings and opinions clearly and effectively is only half of the communication process needed for interpersonal effectiveness. The other half is complete only when the user interprets and understands the senders message in the same way the sender had intended it. I mean its the job of the listener to understand the implication of communication being a two way road. Effective communication is less of just exchanging information and more of understanding the emotion behind the information.
VERBAL COMMUNICATION
Which contributes to the remaining 55% of the communication. It comprises of the listener , the audience , the interpreter.
