The appreciation of art requires a structured discipline to achieve the following objectives:
Observation
Experience
Reading
Knowledge
Interpretation
Hypothesis
There are three basic components to the question that explains the content of this discipline:

HYPOTHESIS
Malay Couple is a particularly rich collage from the artists Malaysian Series, begun in the early 1980s, in which he appropriated images from old photographs of figures and families of the different races, expressing ideas about community, history and memory
In 1960, the artist travelled to north Borneo, in search of new subject matter. Harvesting is an exceptional painting which grew out of his visit to Dayak longhouses and their culture. Applying a typically Fauvist approach, he picks out the rich dyes and textures of cloth and basketry, and the bright grains of the harvest. against the dark earthy tones of the figures and background.
Amron Omars (b. 1957) , Study for Pertarungan II, 1980, Charcoal on paper, 78 x 108 cm
Graduating from Nanyang Academy of Fine Art in 1959, Khoo Sui Hoes (b. 1939) unique stylisation of the Asian figure has become almost iconic in the history of modern Malaysian figuration. His best paintings create a state of inner peace, joy freedom and humour. The human being is depicted in serene harmony with the elements: water, air, earth and its vegetation. The artists unique brand of gentle surrealism expresses a Southeast Asian ideal without losing its universal appeal.
Yong Mun Sen (b.1896 - 1962) has sometimes been referred to as the father of Malaysian art, being one of the very earliest practising artists in the country. Born in Sarawak, he eventually settled in Penang, where he set up his first studio in 1922.

Ability to evaluate without prejudice Has his own personal taste and is able to evaluate
the artists creativity in a wide context.

Theory of Appreciation
This approach classifies image observation into
four stages: First, the description stage Second, the formal analysis stage Third, the interpretation stage Fourth, the hypothesis stage
Edmund B.Feldman, Varieties of Visual Experience
Description
The Description Stage: In this stage, we try to
identify the basic images depicted by the artist, that is: a middle-aged woman, three young women and two
young men.
Formal analysis
Interpretation
This stage requires in-depth exploration. We the
images portrayed as symbols to enable us to analyse in more detail.
We begin by asking questions as a simple guide in our search for
answers
who is the middle-aged woman?, what is her character like? what is her character like?,
Hypothesis
This stage enables us to make assumptions
based on the answers to the questions posed. The assumptions are,
the artist is trying to make a social criticism on the
youths of today. The artist made a comparison between Bosnia where there is an ethnic war happening in their fight to defend religious values, and Kuala Lumpur where the Bohsia phenomenon is difficult to combat.
