INSTRUMENTATION LIMITED, KOTA

By NITISH GAUTAM

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
First of all I wish to express my sincere thanks to the Rajasthan Technical University, which introduce the scheme of providing practical training for technical students during the 4 -year course of B.TECH. With the drastic development of technology & speedy industrializations of the country I consider myself to fortunate to have undergone practical training in INSTRUMENTATION LIMITED.

INTRODUCTION
INSTRUMENTATION LIMITED, KOTA is a govt. of

India enterprises established in Kota (Raj.) in 19661967. The prime objective of company is to attain self reliance in the field of control & automation for the process industry. IL is supplying control equipments to various sectors of the industry viz. power, steel, fertilizers, chemical, cement etc.

The major products that IL presently manufacturing

are: Process control instruments Control valves Railway signaling system Sets of telecommunication Microprocessor based recorders Panels Digital switching system

RAILWAY SIGNALING SYSTEM

Railway Signaling Systems

are basically intended or dispatch and control of trains in the fail safe manner. IL has executed large turnkey Railway signaling jobs for Western Railway, Southern Central Railway, RITES, IRCON and NTPC etc.

What is relay?
A relay is multi switch device

with multiple mating contact pairs. The contact configuration consists of two types of contact pairs- front and back. When a relay is energized thee status of front and back contact pairs reverses.

The main operating principles for working of relay:

ELECTROMAGNETIC ATTRACTION ELECTROMAGNETIC INDUCTION.

IL manufactures three types of relays: LINE RELAY TRACK RELAY KEYLOCK RELAY

UPS SYSTEM
It is known as Uninterrupted

Power Supply. The basic function of UPS is to continue power supply to critical load within its specified tolerances during a failure of the normal power supply. The US system basically consists of rectifier, inverter, transfer switch and battery.

Types of UPS:
OFF LINE UPSo In off line UPS input is directly connected to output.

o Output will be in square form.

o Frequency may vary according to input applied.

ON LINE UPSo In on line UPS input is connectedto load through

inverter. o Output will be in sine form. o Frequency of output is constant.

PCB CENTRE
A printed circuit board,

or PCB is used to mechanically support and electrically connect electronic components using conductive pathways. IL deals with the fabrication of the PCBs.

PCB manufacturing process generally consists

following steps: Materials Pattering Chemical Etching Lamination Drilling Conductor plating or coating Solder resist Screen printing Testing & Assembly Protection & Packaging

.
It is the unit where the quality of each product is to be

checked on different parameters. The principles of Quality Managements are: Customer Focus Leadership Involvement of people Process approach System approach to management Continual improvement Factual approach to decision making Mutually beneficial supplier relationships

QA of PCB: Pre Solder Inspectiono Card should not have

defective components. o No component should be missing on card. Post Solder Inspectiono Card should not have any lifted component. o No shorting and solder defect should be there.

CONCLUSION
HENCE, in last I can say that taking training in such an organization provided to very beneficial for me. I learn a lot about UPS unit , PCB unit etc. I also got first hand knowledge of how an industry practically works. These all are necessary to know for an Engineering Graduate. I hope this presentation will be successful to make others understand about the various technology and process used to prepare various equipments.
