PRESENTATION ON MANAGEMENT

INTRODUCTION
This report includes the activities done by the managers of different level of managers and to identify the problem related to their managers activities. Methodology We have used primary data i.e. one of our team members interviewed the different level of managers about how they make decision, plan, organize, lead and control. This report also includes some secondary data i.e. the information about the organization which is collected from the organizations website.

OBJECTIVES
The broad objective of this topic is exploring the
activities of different level of managers of a Private Commercial Bank.

Other objectives: This reports includes the activities


done by the managers of different level of managers and to identify the problem related to their managers activities.

ORGANIZATIONS OVERVIEW

The Company was incorporated on September 29, 1999 under the Companies Act 1994 as a public company limited by shares for carrying out all kinds of banking activities with Authorized Capital of Tk. 38,00,000,000 divided into 38,000,000 ordinary shares of Tk.100 each. The Memorandum of Association and as licensed by Bangladesh Bank under the provisions of the Banking Companies Act 1991. The Company (Bank) operates through its Head Office at Dhaka and 76 branches. The Company/ Bank carry out international business through a Global Network of Foreign Correspondent Banks.

FINDINGS AND ANALYSIS


Our members interviewed with different level of managers of the Mutual Trust Bank (Mohammadpur branch) to know how they make decision, plan, organize, control and lead.
PLANNING AND DECISION MAKING

Md. Shamsul Alam, age 49 and Md. Khasrul Alam, age 45 are the Manager and Deputy Manager of this branch. He said that he never took decision on his own he always want suggestions and asks his colleagues to recommend him on making particular decisions. He often calls meetings whenever he develops some new ideas and inspires his workers to suggest and recommend. Sometimes they do this work through their internal websites. As they always cant travel to the head office and report or state new ideas to their seniors.

ORGANIZING:

Md. Khasrul Alam maintains a paper named Daily Basis Activities (DBA). In this paper the day to day activities of all level of managers are written. The each day activities are organized and they have no other option of letting the work go and remain for the next day as they scan and send it to their head office. If they have are done with their daily basis activities they sign in the DBA and confirm their work.

CONTROL

The deputy manager stated about an event when they were facing a great loss while maximizing their shareholders. Their company suffered from great loss in 2004. He stated that they were ordered to sack few people from their branch. But the manager reduces the salary of each people and thus they overcome their loss and next year made a profit of 125000 tk. Thus they control every situation.

FINDINGS AND ANALYSIS


LEADING

Md. Shamsul Alam is a very efficient and lively leader. He always inspires his colleagues and motivates to do their work efficiently and effectively. He says that he always believe in talk less and do more and he often says to his workers that they should discuss and talk with him at any matter related to company. He guides them in their work and make sure that everybody give their maximum for this company. He is very strict about presence of a workers mentally and physically both. If anyone is absent or absent minded he instantly sacks him or her (not in the case of sickness).

RECOMMENDATION
The companys management is efficient and effective, but in some cases it somehow has some weak points. This branch is growing slow. The manager should set a reward or should start a system of rewarding best employee of the month. This will increase the workers motivation and will create a competitive environment which may lead to increase the companys efficiency. They should develop bank security system which is a bit disordered. They should appoint more confident worker and convincible people in customer care service.

CONCLUSION
From this report we have learnt the practical implementation of the activities that we learnt from our course Principle of Management. Besides we get to communicate with different levels of people. The people of this organization cooperate with us. At last may conclude our report by thanking our course advisor to make us do such a report which in later will help in our practical working life.
