The Copyright (Application to other Countries) Regulations 1990 came into force on 1 October 1990, the day Malaysia acceded to the Berne Convention .

Who Benefits From Copyright

By protecting the investment of computer software companies in software development, the copyright promotes a large public availability of new, creative and innovative products. These companies devote large portions of their earnings to the creation of new software products and they deserve a fair return on their investment.

The creators and developers of the software, such as, writers, programmers, and graphic artists deserve compensation for their effort.

Without them we would not have any valuable software and programs, so we have to give them credit for their effort. In this case, the Copyright Law helps them get their rights.

Conclusion
We should not get involved in piracy as it is illegal. We should not take something that is not ours and we certainly have to follow and obey the existing law to avoid from spoiling our moral ethics.
