Dr. Berg talks about why diabetes is becoming so popular nowadays. In 1970's the American Diabetes Association recommends 45% of calories (20% protein, 35% fat) then on 1986 it increased into 60% of the total calories . 1994, they are more flexible by allowing more added sugar and sucrose to be a part of the 60% calories. Then the medical association gets their information from the American Diabetes Association Experts where they realized that they couldn't fix diabetes by the 60% carbohydrates so they have to "Manage Diabetes" by balancing food and medications.
