COURSE OBJECTIVES i. To understand the basic features of SPSS including how to input data files, manage data and perform graphical techniques using SPSS. ii. To understand the exploratory data analysis techniques. iii. To be able to do categorical data analysis. iv. To apply statistical tests of hypotheses about means using t-tests and one-way analysis of variance.

COURSE CO-ORDINATOR ASSOC. PROF. AHMAD SHUKRI YAHAYA is a lecturer at the School of Civil Engineering, Engineering Campus, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). He obtained his M.Sc. from the University of Aston, Birmingham in Industrial Mathematics. His area of research is in air pollution modelling, simulation and data analysis. He is a principle researcher for the Clean Air Research Group, USM and an associate researcher for the Centre of Modelling and Data Analysis, UKM. He has conducted a number of courses in SPSS for several government departments as well as for the SPSS Users Group. He has written numerous papers in journals and conferences at local and international levels. He has written ten books in Engineering Statistics and Engineering Mathematics. He has taught Engineering Statistics Courses at the School of Civil Engineering and has used SPSS extensively while teaching the courses and in his research.

2. Local Order (LO) or Purchase Order (PO) must be presented before the event. The Organizer reserves the right to refrain a registered participant from taking part in the event if no proof of payment can be presented. This only applies to registered participants who have NOT paid the registration fee PRIOR to the event date. Confirmation of participation can only be made by payment or LO / PO receives by the organiser. 3. Cancellation / Substitution A full refund less administration fee of MYR250.00 will be given for cancellation received not later than 10 working days before the course. No refund will be made after this period. However, substitute participants are welcomed at no extra charge provided written notice of at least 5 working days before the event is given to the Organizer.
