The Case Method of Teaching prepares you to make decisions in the face of conflicting data, complex politics, intense financial pressure and various market scenarios, while following impossible deadlines. Programme Structure
The LUMS MBA is a two-year programme based on a series of core and elective courses. The Summer Orientation Programme (SOP), offered in August prior to the official commencement of classes, eases the transitional stage of students into the regular MBA by providing fundamental skill enhancement modules in communication, business mathematics, accounting, computer applications and statistics. In the first and second year, all students are expected to complete 11 core courses.

Students are also required to take a series of Competency and Professional Development (CPD) Modules. These CPD Modules have been designed to develop soft skills through a variety of pedagogical techniques including field visits, role playing, group exercises, seminars, simulations and business games. These CPD Modules include: Entrepreneurship Global Management Guest Speaker Sessions Industry Field Visits Integrated Business Games Leadership and Interpersonal Skills Professionalism and Ethics Selling Yourself Social, Political and Historical Perspectives Social Emersion Programme Strategic Tools for Managers Between the first and the second year of the MBA Programme, students must undertake a summer internship of at least six weeks. The internship programme enables students to gain valuable management experience early on in their careers and aids them in identifying their long term career goals. Companies are also at an advantage as they get the opportunity to judge an interns potential for being hired for positions in their organisation. Coordination of procurement of internships is aided by our MBA Placement Office (MPO).

Financial Assistance
Financial Assistance
We do not believe in turning away competent applicants on the basis of their inability to bear the financial burden of tuition. We offer aid in the form of scholarships and loans to needy students. Scholarships and loans from external donors are also available. For the academic year 2009-2010, awards to the MBA students totalled PKR 21.2 million. The Asian Development Bank, recognising LUMS as one of the countrys premier institutions, awards full scholarships to MBA applicants from ADB member countries. Students from China, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, UAE and the Philippines have already availed this scholarship and after completing their MBA at LUMS are pursuing successful careers in their own countries.
I always intended to pursue an MBA from a highly ranked Business School. I looked for quality education which would have a practical corollary in the real world. Fee Structure
Fee Structure
The admission, Summer Orientation Programme and security fees are a one-time expense. Charges for tuition, computing facility and extra-curricular activities are payable at the beginning of each quarter. Fee does not include food expenses and accommodation. A schedule of expenses for the MBA session to commence in August 2010 is given below with dollar amounts for international students:
