In the last four years, the facilities have been further strengthened with the addition of more learning oriented class rooms, excellent laboratories and workshops for experimentation and hands on training, comfortable and affordable hostels, residential facility for faculty & staff, auditorium and convention centers, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, lush green lawns and grounds, multispecialty 550 bed hospital and shopping centre to name a few. The creation of this massive infrastructure reflects our commitment to bring about excellence in all aspects of education. The campus expansion has also seen a corresponding growth in our reputation and performance with a significant increase in our student enrollments. The world believes that our large young population is our unique strength and that with this promising young population, India is perfectly poised on a trajectory to world leadership. However, all policy makers, educationists and industry leaders believe that this young resource can be transformed into an effective asset through education, which is not merely theoretical, but that which transforms the youth into individuals with a high intellect and an equally strong emotional and spiritual quotient. We have endeavored to provide our students with the right blend of world class infrastructure, adept teaching and support staff, development of industry relevant curricula, adoption of suitable teaching methodologies, introduction of effective performance evaluating mechanisms, regular interaction with eminent personalities from diverse fields and linkages with institutions of excellence both domestic and international, all of which are necessary to provide a nurturing and supporting academic environment. The significant strides made by the university in the area of teaching, research and society outreach have started giving dividends in terms of increasingly high level of acceptance of its students in diverse organizations and in espousing and addressing societal issues like malnutrition, health & hygiene, girls' education and sustainability of development. The Teerthanker Mahaveer University Uttar Pradesh Act, 2008 (U.P. Act No. 30 of 2008) sets the governance model for the university. The prominent bodies entrusted to provide governance include; University Court, Planning Board, Executive Council, Academic Council and Finance Committee. THE UNIVERSITY
State Private University having Jain Minority status established by Act No. 30 of 2008 of the Government of Uttar Pradesh and has been approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of UGC Act, 1956 The university is located on National Highway24 and is barely 144 Kms from National Capital, New Delhi. The University stands committed to the ideals of Lord Mahaveer i.e. Right Philosophy, Right Knowledge, and Right Conduct in all its operations and aspires to be recognized as an ultimate destination for world-class education. The university owes its origin to Teerthanker Mahaveer Institute of Management and Technology (TMIMT), which forayed into professional education in the year 2001 by offering courses such as BBA, BCA, MCA, MBA, B. Ed, M. Ed and B. Sc. (Home Science). After the university came in to existence in 2008, these programs are being run under the College of Management and Computer Applications, College of Education and Department of Home Science. Subsequently colleges/departments like: Dental, Medical, Engineering, Pharmacy, Nursing, Paramedical Sciences, Physiotherapy, Architecture, Law, Journalism, Physical Education, Polytechnic, Social Work, Health Administration, Library Science, Fine Arts and Centre for Language Studies have been created to meet the rising aspirations of the youth. Currently the university offers wide range of programs having high employability potential through its fourteen on campus colleges and five departments. The university has made extensive collaborative arrangements with leading national and international institutions to ensure quality. The programs are designed and reviewed in consultation with professional organizations and industry experts in order to provide a strong academic rigor and industrial perspective and are delivered by excellent faculty, who are known for their dedication to teaching and research, and close ties with the national and international academic and business community. The programs are conducted in highly conducive learning environment which seeks to develop the power for critical thinking and analysis. The Infrastructure at the university has been created so as to facilitate the students in their quest to search for humanism, tolerance, reason, progress,adventure of ideas and truth.
The Campus The TMU Campus has the uniqueness of many imposing buildings, large lawns, vast playgrounds and supporting facilities. It has been planned, designed and constructed to address broader issues that relate to resource and energy conservation. Concepts such as rain water harvesting, sewage treatment, development of water bodies, green parks and pathways, plantations and use of solar energy have been applied. Facilities such as air-conditioned lecture theaters, language labs, WiFi connectivity, well stocked libraries with access to e-journals, advance computer centres, modern and wellequipped laboratories, ultra modern auditorium, contemporary seminar halls, community centres, open air theaters, indoor & outdoor sports complex and recreation facilities provide distinct advantage in creation and dissemination of knowledge.
Libraries The University maintains well stocked separate library for each of its colleges. The libraries have more than 88,000 books on varied subjects and have subscription to print version of 347 national and international journals besides access to a host of e-journals. The University has subscribed the EBSCO data base providing access to full text research articles and sector specific reports in different disciplines. The students of College of Engineering and College of Management & Computer Applications are provided book bank facility. Communication Labs The University has established four state-of-the-art communication labs with hi-tech software having provision for developing basic, intermediate and business level language skills and uniquely designed personality development cabins and group discussion rooms.
ICT Resources The University is adequately equipped with computer systems. Each college has computer labs equipped with general as well as domain specific software for quality teaching and research. 'Campus Connect', an ERP based software developed by JIL Information Technology Limited, New Delhi has been installed to automate various administrative processes of the university. Usage of the V-Sat and Skype technology further leverages application oriented learning. Additionally, the University is one of the few to be part of the National Knowledge Network (NKN), an initiative of Department of Science and Technology and Ministry of Human Resource Management, Government of India that connects all universities of the country through high speed internet (1Gbps) to share their learning, experiences and academic resources.

Research Initiatives Research and consultancy are a priority area for the university. The campus subscribes to the ebsco data base providing access to around 7,455 journals in different disciplines for full text research articles and sector specific reports. The university is committed to forging tie ups and collaborations with national and international institutions for teaching, research and exchange of faculty and students to enhance its research profile and standards. Financial incentives are given to encourage students and faculty to contribute towards research and participate in national and international conferences and seminars. Large number of publication of quality research papers and industry-sponsored research projects are already being undertaken by the faculty and students. The university offers a Ph.D. Program in engineering, management, pharmacy, education, social work, law, home science and nursing and is likely to be extended to other areas of study as well. Already 70 students are enrolled in various Ph.D. programs. TMU encourage professionals working in corporate and government institutions to undertake joint research studies. The university ordinance governing the Ph.D. Program is in consonance with the latest guidelines of the UGC that include i) screening through research aptitude test (RAT) ii) submission of synopsis and its presentation before the research committee iii) course work iv) publication of minimum two research papers in peer reviewed journals from the research work v) pre-submission presentation vi) oral defense after receiving positive report from external examiners.

Healthcare

Students, faculty and staff have access to healthcare facilities at the 550-bed multi-specialty hospital attached to the Medical College. It is equipped with latest technological infrastructure providing diagnostic, curative and preventive services with advance management systems. The hospital provides round the clock blood bank facility to the patients. Round-the-clock ambulance services are available for patients in the hospital. Critical care ambulance is always ready for shifting patients to hospitals in Delhi and other places in an emergency.

Music & dance classes Music and dance classes in both modern and classical forms are organized in the evening for students keen on refining their creative potential. Eminent trainers are invited to teach and train the students on instruments and accessories to promote excellence in creative arts. Yoga & meditation The university has established a yoga and meditation centre for the students, which is being run under the guidance of astute trainers. Students participate in the yoga and meditation classes regularly in morning and evening hours. The faculty and staff along with their families also attend the classes for physical fitness. Sports University accords high priority to sports and sports infrastructure, enabling students to participate in variety of sports at different levels. Various indoor and outdoor sports facilities provided to the students include; table-tennis, cricket, volleyball, tennis, basketball, badminton, squash, football, hockey, skating and athletics. In addition, students are also encouraged to participate in adventure sports like trekking, rock climbing, river crossing and river rafting. Recently, a modern indoor sport complex has been made operational to promote all-weather sports activities. Understanding the importance of the adage that a fit mind is an active mind, an air-conditioned gymnasium with all modern fitness equipments has been developed for the students. Hostel accommodation There are four separate hostels for boys and girls to accommodate approximately 2500 students. Rooms are spacious, clean, airy and well maintained with attached bathrooms and are available on single as well as multi-sharing basis. Each room is provided with beds, wardrobes, study tables and chairs. Desert coolers have also been provided for each room. Round-the-clock power back-up facility is available. Solar heaters have been installed for providing hot water. Water purifiers and water coolers are installed to provide potable water. Provision has been made for AC equipped rooms to meet the specific requirement of the students. Each hostel has a provision for a visitor's room, a spacious well-lit common room with a large television and comfortable seating arrangement, recreational facilities, facilities for indoor games, newspapers & magazines, wi-fi connectivity and a gymnasium. Laundry facilities are available inhouse with provision for commercial washing machine and tumble drier. Spacious dining rooms and modern kitchens ensure that students are served with nutritious food in a good ambience. There is a dedicated team consisting of wardens and caretakers to help, guide and solve problems of the boarders. Students are advised to read the rules and regulations of the university related to hostels.

Banking Facility Punjab National Bank provides all banking facilities including ATM on campus to facilitate faculty, staff and the students. The bank also extends the educational loan facility to the students of the university. Transport The University has arranged a pick and drop transportation facility to students within a radius of about 100 km adjoining the city of Moradabad. It presently maintains a convoy of 55 vehicles including 29 buses, 16 cars, 4 ambulances including one critical care ambulance, 4 small trucks for carriage and 2 tractors for agriculture and plantations purpose in the campus. Cultural Weeks at Colleges The University encourages the students to actively pursue their hobbies and participate in cultural activities organized by each college from time to time, individually as well as jointly at the university level. Each college celebrates its cultural week during March-May showcasing the talent of students in a wide range of activities and competitions such as painting, rangoli, collage making, dance, drama, mono-acting, plays, singing, exhibitions, sports events. The participation of a large number of students in these activities helps build lifelong associations besides helping spot talent. Annual Cultural Extravaganza The three day ROCK ON musical extravaganza held in 2009, 2010 and 2011 have been a huge success and has encouraged the university to plan an even more lavish ROCK ON IV festival this year. The previous festivals were graced by eminent performers like Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Sukhwinder Singh, upcoming rock star Hard Kaur and Pawani, a budding playback singer of Sa-Re-Gama fame, Bharti of Laughter Challenge fame and VIP, the renowned comedian of Comedy Circus fame. The three day mega events ultimately culminated with colourful performances by a contingent of over 500 students from different colleges and departments of the university. Excursions and Industrial Visits The University organizes excursions and industrial tours from time to time to help in the overall personality development of the students. Recently, students from different colleges of the university travelled to Jaipur, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Nainital, Corbett National Park, Amritsar, AMU, Tata Motors, Amtek Auto, Prakash Woolen Mill, Nestle India, Parle- G, TEVA API and CSRI, Delhi.

Teerthanker Mahaveer Medical College & Research Centre, Moradabad has been established to impart quality medical education and provide trained healthcare personnel (Doctors) for services in the society. The hospital of the institution provides modern health care services including critical care and emergency care to the population at large. The college has been established with the permission of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India after inspection by the Medical Council of India in 2008 with an admission intake of 100 students per year. Subsequently three more batches of 100 students each have been admitted in the college after necessary permission by Govt. of India on the recommendation of Medical Council of India, in the year 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12. The college has been attracting students from all over India. During short span of 4 years, the hospital has developed
into 500 bed tertiary care hospital with best of the facilities. The College of Engineering was established in 2008 as an on-campus college of the university with a view to bridge the gap between the requirement of multi-skilled and well-trained engineers and their availability in India. As the Indian economy is projected to grow at around 8% to 9% annually for next few years and to realize this growth rate, massive investments in infrastructure, industry and other sectors of the economy will be needed, for which, among other things, trained and multi-skilled engineers are required. The college works with the objective to impart high quality technical knowledge in the field of Engineering and Technology and to achieve excellence at par with the global standards. The B.Ed. program was started in the year 2003 and on getting overwhelming response from the students and the society, M.Ed. program was introduced in the year 2006. Since then, these two programs are continuing successfully under the aegis of TMIMT and with the establishment of Teerthanker Mahaveer University in the year 2008 these programs are being run by the college as an on-campus college of the university. The college is committed to nurture, motivate and empower the future teachers who will serve as beacon lights for posterity and meet the challenges and demands of the society. They will not only be source of inspiration but will also encourage like-minded people and scholars in other disciplines and modern educators to contribute to the field of education. Paramedical Science is an inseparable part of the health care system and runs parallel to medical science in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Diagnostic tools like the clinical laboratory, the x-ray, the ultra sound, CT and other invasive or non-invasive methods and therapeutic technical modes like physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy are parts of the paramedical system.Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), pointed out that in case of paramedics acute shortage is likely to emerge in case of radiographics, ECG technicians, OT technicians, audiomotorists etc. The Prime Minister's Council on trade and industry reported that X-ray technicians required by 2015 would be 12,410 and number of lab technicians required would be 62,050.

Department of Home Science
Established in 2002 with a broad objective of catering to the educational needs of girls besides preparing them for future roles. The department is fully geared to train students in the multi-disciplinary field of the study, which engender the variety of roles and tasks involving contemporary family in community and social life. In essence, the program involves a broad-base study of family life involving child education, food and nutrition, extension, textile and clothing, and consumer needs, as well as the application of these to improve aesthetic, social, economic, technical and scientific principles. The Department trains the students in the above broad areas ensuring the production of highly skilled manpower through adoption of effective techniques of instructions, laboratory practical, field demonstration and workshop practice. The Department of Social Work has been established to promote and impart education, research, field action and dissemination on wide spectrum of social issues and problems confronting the individuals, families, groups and communities. The Department believes in ethical social work practices and is a strong advocate for social justice. The objective of the two year MSW program is to prepare a cadre of trained and qualified professionals who have deep understanding of human problems and sufferings. The curriculum is appropriately designed by involving experts from academia, government, NGO(s) and international organizations to develop knowledge, attitude, skills and values necessary to comprehend contemporary socio-economic realities and developmental issues so as to address them effectively. The innovative MSW program combines class room teaching and supervised field instructions through partnerships with leading social service, health care and community agencies. They are required to improve efficiency in healthcare facilities and the quality of the care provided. Centre for Language & Culture Studies

In order to provide opportunities to learn foreign languages especially, German, Japanese, Chinese, French and different cultures to students and faculty a separate Centre for Language & Culture Studies has been established from the current session. The Centre besides teaching and research in languages shall also carry out programs and studies on the Cultures of India, Asia and Europe on the origin and development of philosophy within the framework of specific socio-historical contexts and conditions. The programs shall focus on giving a total overview of the history, geography and cultural institutions of the country concerned. A survey of the country's history, its art and thought shall form an essential component of the curriculum in order to give the students a proper understanding of the relationship between society and its art and belief. The centre shall offer fulltime/part-time/weekend/short duration summer programs in languages and cultures in addition to special English language learning programs.

University-industry Interface Cell

University's endeavor is to equip students with necessary skills required for their employability in the industry and other organizations. To meet this objective, university has established University- Industry Interface Cell to act as an interface between the university and the corporate world and perform entire gamut of academic activities such as industry-academia interaction, guest lectures, corporate training, seminars, and workshops from time to time for strengthening corporate relations and ultimately help students getting placements. The Cell also organizes personality development, career guidance and counseling programs for the students so as to gear them up to take on the stiff competition in the corporate world. The Cell also conducts group discussions, mock interviews and aptitude tests from time to time to prepare the students for campus placements. The Cell regularly interacts with the industry to get inputs for review and up gradation of its curricula. The Cell also organizes Corporate Meets from time to time to assess the requirement of the industry and gives the students an insight into the workings of the corporate world. Recently such meets were organized at Rudarpur and Gajraula in association with KumaonGarhwal Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Gajraula Industries Welfare Association respectively. The participation and response from industry was highly encouraging that has started yielding returns in terms of training, placements, industry sponsored academic programs, like the ones with Amtek Auto, CMS, Vimal Transformers. Further collaborative arrangements have been made with Remky Infrastucture, Raunak Automotive Components.

Refund of Fee
1. No refund of fee is permitted on account of withdrawal/absence from the college or other reasons once a student is admitted to any program of study. 2. Any student who withdraws from the program after the date of commencement of classes shall be required to pay the program fee payable for the remaining period of the program as well.

Efforts of the University towards internationalization of its programs have started yielding results. In the last academic year six foreign students have enrolled to various programs. Application Form
A Candidate seeking admission in any of the academic program of the university is required to fill up the attached application form given in the Brochure. The Admission Brochure, along with the application form, is available on all days of the week (Monday to Sunday from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm) and can be obtained through: (i) Cash payment: The Admission Brochure consisting of an application form can be obtained from the Admission Cell of the University on payment of Rs. 600/- as processing fee in cash.
(ii) Speed post/courier: The Admission Brochure, along with the application form, can also be obtained through speed post/courier. A request in this regard should be sent to the Director- Admissions, Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Delhi Road, Moradabad, (UP) 244 001, along with a demand draft/pay order of Rs. 600/- (Rupees six hundred only) against the processing fee in favour of the Teerthanker Mahaveer University, payable at Moradabad. The name, address and phone number of the applicant should be clearly mentioned on the backside of the demand draft/pay order. Admission Rules & Regulations

(i) Go through all the instructions given in the admission brochure carefully. (ii) If you have appeared in a qualifying examination and the result, thereof, is awaited, you can take provisional admission. (iii) Attach certified copies of your mark sheets/testimonials with the application form. At this stage, do not send any original copies of mark sheets/testimonials. (iv) Paste your latest photograph in the space provided for in the application form. (v) Before submitting/mailing the duly filled-up application form, go through all the points contained in the form. (vi) The merit list declared by the University shall be final and binding. (vii) If any document/declaration submitted by the candidate is found to be false/forged at any stage, his or her admission shall be cancelled and he/she may be liable for prosecution under law. (viii) The selection to the program will be provisional until the candidate furnishes all the required documents and testimonials, including the final results of the qualifying examination at the time of admission. (ix) Involvement of any candidate in any form of criminal activities debars the candidate from seeking admission in any program of the university. Concealment of information on this account will tantamount to cancellation of admission if detected subsequently. (x) If the University is not satisfied with the character, past behaviour or antecedents of a candidate, it can refuse to admit him/her to any course of study in the University. (xi) It is advisable that students seeking admission in the University should visit it along with their parents/ guardians to see the infrastructural facilities such as classrooms, laboratories, library, hostel, transportation, etc. This may facilitate their decision at the time of counseling/admission. (xii) At the time of admission, the students are required to submit the Non-Judicial affidavit being signed by him/her along with their parents/guardians with regard to disciplinary behaviour during the entire period of the program. If any deviation is found, he/she is to be subjected to the punishment/ suspension/rustication as per the University rules and regulations. (xiii) In case of any legal dispute, the jurisdiction will be limited to Moradabad courts only.

Disciplinary Rules Regulations for Students

1. Students are expected to maintain decorum in their behavior and habits, at all times, befitting the prestige of the College and the University. Students are also expected to dress-up decently in all public places. 2. Students are advised to attend all classes and to ensure that they maintain the attendance criteria as laid down in the university ordinance governing the same. A minimum of 75% attendance in lectures, presentations and practical classes is mandatory for appearing in end term examination. In case of deviation, university is empowered to detain the student from appearing from end semester/year examinations. For details, students are advised to read the university ordinance carefully which is available at www.tmu.ac.in for details. 3. Participation of students in academic activities such as seminar/workshop, industrial visits is compulsory. Non participation without prior permission, may adversely affect the students internal assessment performance. 4. If a student absents from the classes for seven consecutive working days without prior permission his/her name may be struck off the rolls. 5. During the teaching hours students are not allowed to leave the college campus without written permission from the class coordinator. 6. Students are prohibited from engaging in acts of intimidation, violence or abuse against any of the students, employees, staff and faculty members of the university. Students are expected to show sincere, decent and cordial attitude towards their classmates, students of other programs, staff, faculty and other employees of the university. 7. Students loitering in the campus is prohibited. 8. Ragging is an inhuman act and is banned both inside and outside the campus of the University. The Honorable Supreme Court of India has taken serious cognizance of the offence of ragging and has issued strict directives for steps to ensure its elimination. Students shall not directly or indirectly indulge in, aid or abet any activity that might be construed as ragging. Violators will face necessary disciplinary and legal action. This includes lodging of a criminal case, against the student at the Police Station as per the directive of the Honorable Supreme Court of India as well as expulsion from the University. It will be confiscated, if found using in prohibited area. 10. Smoking, chewing pan, pan-masala, gutka, gambling, consumption of alcoholic drinks and use of hallucinogenic drugs and other illegal substances, or the possession of such substances, anywhere in the University campus, is strictly forbidden. 11. Carrying any explosive/fire arm, and/or weapon inside the campus is strictly prohibited. 12. Non-vegetarian food is strictly prohibited in the campus. 13. Students are advised not to indulge in any prohibited, illegal and unethical, immoral activities inside and/or outside the College/University campus, or else, they will be liable for punishment as per University rules. 14. Safety of all personal valuables/belongings will be the responsibility of the student. 15. If the student is found involved in activities resulting in direct or indirect loss/damage to the College/ University, the same shall be borne by the student. He/ She will be asked to compensate the university for the same. 16. Adherence to dress code is compulsory for academic and allied activities in the campus. 17. Each student will be issued an Identity card which is non-transferrable. Student is expected to keep the ID card on his/her person while in the university campus and especially when appearing in tests and examinations, etc. and also when going out of the campus. 18. College/University would not be liable for any compensation/claim whatsoever under any circumstances, in case of any casualty/injury or otherwise to any student during his/her academic course inside or outside the College/ University campus. 19. In case of any dispute on any matter, the decision of the university would be final and binding. Competent authority of the university possess the right to modify the aforesaid rules and/or insert/ delete from time to time in future and the same shall be binding upon the students.

About Moradabad
Moradabad was founded in 1625 and named after a son of the Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan. The ruins of a fort built in 1625 lie to the northern part of the city. It is believed that the brassware industry traces its roots to Moradabad and has now spread to the rest of the country. Although the art of brassware developed in the period of Mughals only, but evidence suggests that Indians, from around 3000 B.C., knew the process of metallurgy. The discovery of a bronze statue of Dancing Girl in the Harappa excavation proves this. The brassware industry in Moradabad saw its boom during the early 19th century and Britishers carried the art of making brassware to foreign markets. Artisans from Banaras, Lucknow, Agra and Jalesar formed the current cluster of brassware industry in Moradabad. In 1980, various other metalwares like brass, EPNS, iron, aluminium, etc., were introduced to the art industry of Moradabad. New technologies like electroplating, lacquering, powder coating, etc., also found its way to the industry. It has all along been a hub of commercial activities, and is called Brass City. There are several hundreds of units engaged in the manufacturing and export of brass products. Almost all the major retail chains like Walmart, IKEA, Target, etc., purchase brass products from Moradabad itself. Average annual export of brassware and handicraft items from Moradabad to rest of the world is to the tune of Rs. 3,000 crores, which constitutes 40% of total exports from India under this category. Moradabad city is a designated Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of the Government of India. Over the years, Moradabad has grown in terms of population, business, infrastructure and administrative setup. Presently, the city has a population of 12 lacs and administratively is the commissionery headquarter of Moradabad, Jyotiba Phule Nagar, Rampur and Bijnor districts. The civil amenities of the city are managed by Municipal Corporation headed by the Mayor. Further to augment development process of the city, the government has created Moradabad Development Authority. The city is connected to seven state capitals and as many as 16 other industrial towns and large urban business centres. Delhi is only 140 kms away. The famous hill stations of Nainital and Mussoorie are within 200 kms from Moradabad city. Hastinapur, the holy city for Jains is 120 kms. away from Moradabad. The city is surrounded by industrial hubs like Rudrapur, Hardwar, Roorkee, Meerut, Kashipur, Noida and Delhi, providing ample opportunities to the graduating students to get trained and absorbed both in Indian and multinational companies.
