Synopsis

This course provides the knowledge required to appreciate the functions and benefits of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Students will learn the impact of an ERP system, how ERP software integrates business functions, and how to make current business functions compatible with an ERP system. The students will also develop an appreciation of live, interactive information from an ERP system and the value of its availability throughout the organization. The course will be taught in-class using lectures, presentations, problem solving and case discussions. Objectives Students will learn fundamentals of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems concepts, and the importance of integrated information systems in an organization. This course will enable the student to learn the conceptual basis for enterprise-wide information system by illustrating procurement, production, and sales business processes using ERP software. Students will learn about various applications within the enterprise framework such as Human Capital Management, Supply Chain Management and Customer Relationship Management.

Course Learning Outcomes At the end of this course, student should be able to: Describe issues involved in developing and deploying enterprise wide application. Analyze how customer relationship management, supply chain management and human resources management will be enhanced by using ERP. Applied knowledge of how to use modules of popular ERP software. Applied knowledge in Integration of Systems across the Functional Departments in a Company as well as across the Enterprise as a Whole.

If you submit neither, you will receive no grade for the unit. If you are unable to attend the final exam, you should apply to the faculty for a deferred exam. The faculty has established procedures for this (further information is available from the Faculty Office). No excuses are accepted for not attending any quiz(s) or test(s) conducted during the course. Students are not allowed to re-sit or defer any of quiz(s) or mid term test(s). 2. Students who are absent for more than 80% of the prescribed classes can be barred from the final exam which will result into receiving no grade for the paper. 3.
