VIERA COLOUR MANAGEMENT SYSTEM KEY TECHNOLOGIES FOR IMAGES THAT GO BEYOND BEAUTIFUL
You won't see the many advanced technologies inside VIERA, but on the VIERA screen you will see images with colour and clarity capable of stirring deep emotion. New VIERA technologies include the VIERA Colour Management System that helps deliver superior gradation, brilliant colour, and crystal-clear images with crisp detail. Also new is the G8 Plasma Panel, which lets you enjoy deep, rich blacks and bright, sharp images with stunning contrast. Thanks to these original Panasonic Black Box Technologies, you're ready for viewing entertainment with the power to move the heart as well as please the eye.
Newly developed by Panasonic, this panel drive circuit is designed to unleash the full potential of the G8 Plasma Panel. By dramatically boosting digital processing precision, the VIERA Colour Management System helps deliver images optimally suited to the characteristics of the display. The result is superior gradation with the equivalent of 8.58
Superiority Through Integrated In-House Production A TV can only reproduce truly beautiful images when it balances a number of factors at high levels. Because Panasonic manufactures all of its critical components in-house, extending from panels to drivers and devices, it is able to achieve the optimum balance of components to bring out the best performance from them all.
billion colours, sharp images with outstanding detail, and minimal noise. With the VIERA Colour Management System, you see images so vibrant and deep they will take your breath away.
G8 PLASMA PANEL
This provides clear, vivid display of the video signal after processing by the VIERA Colour Management System to create gradation equivalent to 8.6 billion colours. The result is deep, rich blacks and beautiful, sharp images with vivid colour even when viewing in bright light.
Transparent Electrode
HIGH-PERFORMANCENEW PANEL Conventional By optimising the gas composition ratio, lighting efficiency has been increased by about 15%. Images are crisp and clear even in bright living rooms.
UP TO 2,048 GRADATION STEPS ADVANCED REAL GAMMA CONTROL 8.6 BILLION COLORS: IMAGE BEAUTY BEYOND IMAGINATION
Featuring new refinements that improve the scene-adaptive sub-field control, the Advanced Real Gamma Control provides more levels of gradation in the darker parts of an image. Maximum gradation in darker image parts has been raised from the 1,024 steps of previous systems to 2,048 equivalent steps for outstanding detail. The result is a remarkably rich, expressive picture that excellently suits the human eye, which is more sensitive to changes in brightness level when viewing darker images.
Dark areas are not shown clearly. Dark scenes have finer detail.
The human eye is extremely sensitive to changes in the dark parts. For this reason, a picture stimulates much greater emotion in the viewer when it has deeper blacks and subtle shading in its darker parts.

Panasonic's original Overdrive System suppresses afterimages and colour shifts, making even fast-action sports scenes clear and easy to view. In the LX500A/LX50A series, this advanced technology helps achieve a super-fast 14-msec response with moving pictures.

Due to light leakage, the dark scene has a hazy brightness. The brightness of the backlight is uniform. With no light leakage, crisp blacks are reproduced. The backlight brightness is lowered.

VIERA USABILITY
Large, easy-to-see buttons We increased the contrast of the large 10-key number pad, volume control, and channel up/down keys to make them easier to see.
Intuitive layout The volume control and channel up/down keys are positioned in the centre. Buttons not used often are concealed behind the cover.
Easy-to-hold, ergonomic design Careful attention to materials and design has resulted in a unit that fits the hand well, feels secure, and is easy to hold.
BEYOND CONSIDERATION
The effectiveness of a product's design is measured by how well it serves different people. Panasonicone of the earliest proponents of Universal Designconsidered this in designing the VIERA remote control. Our goal was to create a unit that offered flexible use and easy, intuitive operation, and gave all users a clear understanding of how to operate VIERA. Another example of how VIERA goes beyond conventional design principles.

Pixel Statement (Plasma TV) An image on a Plasma panel is created by many dots known as pixels. The more pixels on the panel, the more detailed image can be displayed. To create a colour image each pixel is made up of three tiny coloured dots (1 each of red, green and blue). This gives a total far in excess of one million individual dots manufactured into the panel. Each one of these dots is precisely controlled by the electronics of the TV to produce the picture. Whilst Panasonic maintains the highest standards in manufacturing technology and processes in the construction of these panels, there are a number of allowable Pixel/Dot failures that would still allow the panel to be defined as a good panel. It is not possible to guarantee absolutely no pixel loss.
