The Fit rah- Mans natural disposition

Most religions hold that man is born in sin or has at least inherited the nature of sinning .Consequently he must requires a ritual to purge himself form that sin. Islam holds that every human being is born pure, without an inherent sin or inheritance of the nature of sinning. Moreover a childs birth, lineage or physical state in which he is born is choice of His creator, having nothing to do with previous life. His environment, in which he is born, raised and where he dies is chosen by Allah purely to test him. Religions like Hinduism and Buddhism propagate that mans soul is locked in a continuous vicious circle of birth and re-birth. Mans present stage is a fruit or result of his past life. If he was a good person he would be born to a higher caste family-a Brahmin, if he were to be evil he would be born to a lower caste family. In Buddhism a similar concept called Karma is held. In the end when a mans soul reaches the pinnacle of righteousness he becomes free from this circle rejoining the soul of the creator, this state is called Nirvana. (1) Islam does not distinguish any human being based on his birth, color, caste or gender and has honored all .He states in the Quran We have honoured the sons of Adam; provided them with transport on land and sea; given them for sustenance things good and pure; and conferred on them special favours, above a great part of Our Creation Surah Al Isra 17:70 The doctrine and concept of ones birth, lineage or status being irrelevant to ones righteousness in his previous life, removes the root of all inequality in men. Moreover all souls have affirmed to Gods Lordship in the Barzakh (barrier between this life and hereafter during Pre-creation) this shows that they are born in state of complete submission to their Lord.

Pre creation
Prophet (pbuh) said Allah extracted from Adam (the first man) all of his descendants who would be born, till the end of the world generation after

generation and spread them out in front of Him in order to take a covenant from them He spoke to them face to face and said to them Am I not your lord? they all replied we testify to it. (Graded Sahih in Silsilah alhadeeth assahiyyah) Allah the Almighty speaks of this in the Quran also: And (remember) when your Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their loins, their seed (or from Adam's loin his offspring) and made them testify as to themselves (saying): "Am I not your Lord?" They said: "Yes! We testify," lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection: "Verily, we have been unaware of this." (172) or lest you should say: "It was only our fathers afortime who took others as partners in worship along with Allah, and we were (merely their) descendants after them; will You then destroy us because of the deeds of men who practised Al-Btil (i.e. polytheism and committing crimes and sins, invoking and worshipping others besides Allah)?" (Surah Al araaf 7:172-173) Every man has this belief engrained in his soul, that there is only one Creator and that He alone deserves to be worshipped. How could someone acknowledge that he has been created by His Lord and believe someone else or something else can avail him, aid him or protect him? How can he consider it legitimate to take anything else for worship? Those who have followed idolatry and worshipped other gods have rejected their natural inclination towards truth. They have done so purely for pursuit of worldly desires, arrogance or out of fear of the consequences of following the truth. One must think, is it godly for Him to create us for a purpose, send us on earth without conveying the truth? Human beings by nature are bound to forget and thus we dont remember any of what happened. Each one of us comes from a different society. Most of us usually accept the religion of our family. We hardly even give it a second thought; neither do we bother how we would grow in the absence of parental influence. Prophet (pbuh) said Every child is born into the Fitrah, it is his parents who turn him into a Jew, a Christian or Magian (agreed upon)

Allah is fair to all His creatures, since human beings are the highest and best of His creation he has sent them forth on Earth in a state of complete purity, without sin and endowed with submission to Him alone. This state is called Fitrah. Man does not need to attain an age to ritually purify himself, to become accepted by God, as some religions require of him. He only needs to continue his life, firm upon his Fitrah learning and imbibing the way of life ordained by his Creator. He has to preserve his Fitrah by seeking the religion of God and following it. Prophet (pbuh) said Allah (swt) said I created My servants on the right religion and the devils made them go astray Though Fitrah is printed on every soul, it is not complete knowledge of the religion; instead it acts as a precursor or a confirming light to guidance. Allah has sent many prophets, revealed to them in order that they may guide their tribes and nations to the way of god both in spiritual and worldly matters. Allah prophets of God have been unanimous in their call to worship of one true God-a certification of the Fitrah. They were divinely guided by the same true God, hence share the same message. Allah has ordained that the only way to salvation is submit to Allah both in word and deed.

Born Muslim
The Fitrah by itself does not guarantee salvation, because it was imprinted by Allah and not human beings. Man has to believe and live upon the Fitrah to enter heaven. Fitrah is only a means of reflection and reassurance when he hears the call of tawheed around him. A person has no excuse on the Day of Judgment to escape punishment. He is questioned about his life on earth, whether he actually sought to upon his relation with his Creator and the way of life ordained by Him. Those who turn a deaf ear after hearing the truth will be doomed and will enter hellfire. Those who hear the truth believe in it and work good deeds have heeded their Fitrah and will be of the dwellers of paradise.

Muslims today have taken almost all practices of the disbelievers, at the same time thinking they will enter heaven because they declared faith. Prophet (pbuh) said A large part of the Muslim nation will follow the Jews & Christians so much so that if they were to enter a lizards hole you they would climb on it (Sahih Bukhari Vol 9 hadith no 442,Sahih Muslim vol.1 hadeeth no 1403) Some of them would even worship idols, towards the last day. (Agreed upon-Sahih Bukhari Vol 9 hadeeth no178) Allah has forbidden us to pray and perform rituals at graves, to ask its inhabitants for aid and beseech their intercession. My dear Muslim brothers and sisters Allahs messenger has forbidden this because those who are dead are incapable of doing any deed at all even for themselves, how could they possibly help us? Allahs messenger (pbuh) said "When a man dies his deeds come to an end except three: on - going charity, beneficial knowledge and the prayer of a pious child.(Sahih Muslim vol3 hadeeth no 4005) The very reason Allahs messenger was sent to Makkans and all mankind, was to call people to tawheed, as they had gone astray by worshipping idols .Their only reason for doing so was to draw to closer to Allah. We only worship them so that they may bus closer to bring us closer to Allah (Surah Zumar 39:3)

The covenant
Not every Muslim who bears on his tongue that he believes will enter Janna, if his beliefs are not followed by action. The belief also necessitates follow up of actions according to the Quran and Sunnah as practiced and understood by the prophet (pbuh) and his companions. There are Muslims who worship graves, perform rituals sacrifices to saints, ask saints to intercede on their behalf and go to pilgrimages on their shrines. These acts were not only inheritance of other religions but manifestations of outright disbelief-negation of tawheed. If a Muslim were to live upon his natural disposition, how could he ask for forgiveness, guidance and worldly benefits from which cannot be granted by them and Allah alone can give.

These acts are clearly associate partners with Him. The covenant implies that He alone is the Lord All wise and Perfect, from whom we take all guidance, in matters of this world and the here-after .We submit to Him. We acknowledge that he alone is the Law maker and guide, hence obey Him completely. Mans obligation towards Allah is above his obligation over anyone else in creation. If he chooses disbelief in Allah after being informed about the truth, fearing their displeasure or boycott, he will be doomed for the hellfire. No good deed is accepted of him because all good is defined by the Creator and the deeds which he does considering them to be good all go in vain. If these deeds were not done for His sake, then there is no good intention in it. If one were to argue that a man could do good deeds entirely for humanity by being a disbeliever in God. We can respond by questioning , can a man really intend good for the creation when he has rejected the way of His creator? Allah says in the Quran surah Baqarah 2:170 If they were told to follow what Allah has revealed, they say No! We will continue to follow what our fore-fathers were following, even though they did not comprehend anything nor where they rightly guided (Surah Al Baqarah 2:170) (1) Because as per Theory of Karma, ones family of birth can change as per his or her deeds. So one born in Shudra family can take birth as kings son in next birth. But if Shudras are born from feet of God, how can same Shudra again take birth from hands of God?
