Baez 3/24/12 A Cinderella Story (Movie) Scene: Sam is the mysterious Cinderella meeting Nomad who she had been talking to from an online chat room. She will soon realize that Nomad is actually the most popular guy in school but Austin will not know is Sam. (Sam is waiting in the middle of the dance floor disappointed) Sam- I knew this was too good to be true. (Austin walks up behind Sam) Austin- Princeton Girl? Sam- Austin Aimes? You're...Nomad? Austin- Yeah.....ahhhh....I guess my costume didn't do a pretty good job at hiding who I am. Sam- No....I know exactly who you are. I'm sorry...this was a really big mistake. I've gotta go. (Walks away with Austin to follow behind.) Austin- Wait. Wait. Wait.....it's not a mistake. Sam- Don't you know who I am? Austin- Of course I do.....you're Princeton Girl. You're the girl i've been waiting to meet, I know exactly who you are. What's your name? Sam -What about your girlfriend? Austin -It's over. I guess you were expecting some guy who hangs out at Starbucks... ...and writes poetry. Sam- Something Iike that. Come on, you're Austin Ames. You're football captain and student body president. And closet poet? You can't be both guys. Austin- I'm not.

Sam- Then who are you?. Austin- On September 7th, I wrote you: "I Iive in a world full of people pretending to be something they're not. Sam- But when I talk to you--" -"I'm the guy I wanna be." Austin- Give me a chance to be that guy. Do you want to join me for a stroll outside? Sam- If you wanna be voted homecoming prince, you'd better stay inside. Austin- I really don't care about becoming homecoming prince. (Austin leads Sam outside and they take a stroll outside the ballroom. They both go on a stroll in the garden.) Austin -So, Princeton Girl, would you tell me who you are if I guessed it right? Sam -Maybe. Austin -Maybe?. Sam -Well, how about we play 20 questions. Austin- How about 10. I'II take what I can get. Okay, first question. You do actually go to North Valley High School, right? Sam -Of course. Austin -Look, I'm just checking. I mean, you never know with the Internet. Sam- Okay, next question. Austin- Were you disappointed when you found out that I was Nomad? Be honest. Sam -Surprisingly, no. Austin- Did you vote for me for student body president? Sam- Surprisingly, yes. Austin- Really? Okay, I got it. Given the choice......would you rather have a rice cake or a Big Mac? Sam- A Big Mac. But what does that matter? Austin- Well, I Iike a girl with a hearty appetite and besides, you just eliminated about 50 percent of the girls in our class. You'd think I'd remember those eyes. You're so beautiful.

Austin- If I ask you to dance, does that count as a question? Sam- There's no music. Austin- So? (Music plays and they slow dance together in the garden. Song: I'll Be by Edwin McCain) Sam- AII out of questions? Austin- Do you believe in Iove at first sight? Sam- I'II Iet you know. Austin -But I've seen you before?. Sam -Yes. Austin-Man. How could I have seen you before......and not know who you are now? Sam- Maybe you were Iooking, but you weren't really seeing. You've got one more question Ieft. Austin- Okay. Do you, Princeton Girl......feel Iike you made the right choice meeting me here tonight? Sam- I do. And do you, Austin Ames, ever wanna see me again after tonight? Austin- I'd have to think about that. Absolutely. Sam- Not now. Austin- What? Sam- I've gotta go. Austin- You have a curfew or something? Sam- Something Iike that. I'm sorry, but thank you. This has been the most amazing night. Austin- Where are you going? Sam -I'm Iate. Austin-For what? Sam -Reality. (Sam runs towards the exit with Austin running behind trying to stop her.)
