Unit: Skill: Focus: Time: Unit 7 Part B Asking and answering questions Past simple 20 minutes if students first complete the sentences and questions in writing 10 minutes if the activity is done orally (with more able classes) Before the lesson: Print out the Student's sheet and make a copy for each pair of students. Cut the sheet in half so that there is a Q and A for Student A and one for Student B. On the board write: I went to a restaurant ______________ ago. Ask the students to complete the statement and write it down. Then write When did you last _________________? And elicit the question about the restaurant. Write the complete question on the board: When did you last go to a restaurant? Explain that the students are going to complete sentences about when they last did an activity and then complete a question to ask their partner. They first read out / tell their partner their own information and then ask their partners the question.
