And they can all draw on the experience of a regional supply chain which has served the energy industry for almost half a century but has rapidly adapted to the changing needs and demands of today and the future. The ports have already been actively involved in development, construction and operations and maintenance of offshore wind farms. Now they are ready and equipped to support developers and Tier 1 and 2 companies, and lead us into a new generation of wind energy. More than 400 specialist companies are located in the area, with skills ranging from cabling and drilling, hydrographic surveying and geosciences to electronics and asset management. This skilled workforce will be key to helping wind farm developers make the most of the natural assets around the East Anglian coast. The region is also well connected by road, rail, sea and air to all areas of the UK and mainland Europe. London
