A Summer 2011-12 Semester will be offered to students of all FFCS Programmes of the University as per the Academic Calendar cited above. Students who have specific course requirements may contact their Programme Managers who in turn will decide the actual courses to be made available for the Summer semester, subject to the following conditions. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. The Summer semester slot timetable is enclosed as Annexure I. Students will be permitted to register first time / fresh courses. Options like Re-registration/ Grade Improvement/ Minor/ Honours/ Audit will be available. It is possible to register a maximum of 4 courses (no upper credit limit is fixed). Students are permitted to register online and write the Term End Examinations (TEEs) of Summer semester courses directly as arrear exams (TEE schedule given in Annexure I), on payment of arrear exam fee. Only courses having 5 or more students will be confirmed for final offering. Provisional Summer semester course registration opens on 23rd April 2012 (Monday). Waitlisted courses (<5 student strength) will be dropped from registration on 1st May 2012 (Tuesday). However, the actual course registration will be closed only on 5th May 2012 (Saturday). No Add/Drop option is available during Summer semester. A Course-slot-faculty-venue link will be opened on 02nd April 2012 (Monday) for the Schools to upload identified summer course-slot-faculty-venue details as per the guidelines given above. The link will be removed on 16th April 2012 (Monday). Courses registered for the first time will not be charged. However, courses under Re-registration, course substitution, grade improvement, Minor, Honours, etc. (additional courses) will be charged @ Rs. 3300 per course. A payment receipt will be generated automatically. A faculty will be permitted to take a maximum of 2 courses only. Faculty handling summer courses will be remunerated. 1. The summer semester is for 5 weeks. 2. One credit of a theory course should have 15 contact hours per semester. 3. A three credit theory course should be allotted to A/B/C/D slot (9 hours/week); four credit theory course to (A+TA)/(B+TB)/(C+TC)/(D+TD) slot (12 hours/week); and, two credit theory course to A/B/C/D slot, with NO classes on Monday & Friday (6 hours/week), viz., classes will be only on Tue, Wed, Thursdays. 4. An one credit lab should have 3 numbers of 2 hour slots per week (30 contact hours per semester). Two credit lab should have 6 numbers of 2 hour slots per week (60 contact hours per semester). The last practical slot of the semester shall be used for conducting Term End Practical Examination.
