TITLE OF THE PROJECT

MUSIC SITE
Online shopping is to buy product. Online shopping is done from the online stores which are called e-shop or e-store. You can buy products from here without going out and without wasting any time. You need not to roam about in the markets or shopping malls. Online shopping is convenient, economical and also safe just as you shop from a store. Not only products but you can also buy services with the help of online shopping. Online shopping is used for various transactions which can be done through the application of e-commerce or electronic commerce. There are many e-shops on the internet from where you can shop online. Some of the popular e-shops are naaptol.com, ebay.com etc. You can browse through the website and can choose the item of your choice. You can buy anything from e-stores and at anytime as internet is available 24*7. You just need to have a debit and credit card for online shopping. The payment will be done through these cards. But you should be very careful while giving the critical information over the web as it may also be stolen by hackers. You should keep some things in your mind while shopping online and these are:

You must know that with whom you are dealing if you are going to buy any service. Confirm the physical presence of the person you are going to deal with. Ask his/her phone number so that you can contact him/her in case of any problems. You should check the price of the item before buying it as there can be some additional costs too like tax or courier charges. Check for the rules and regulations. Always read their privacy policy and do get to know about the refund policy too. While you are doing the transaction, you should always save the records for further enquiry or a proof. Always shop from a reputed and a popular e-store as these will be more trustworthy.

Online shopping is convenient and easy but you should always be careful as it will include transfer of critical information over the web. When you shop online there is no vendor and on the top of it, you would not have a pressure to buy any item. You will also be able to compare the prices of various products. But you will definitely lose the enjoyment of retail shopping. There will be privacy and security issues too. You will go confuse as you will have so many options in front of you. But besides all these pros and cons, consumers are moving towards online stores as the life is getting busier day by day and they do not have time to shop from the physical stores.

OBJECTIVE OF THE ONLINE SHOPPING

History
In 1990 Tim Berners-Lee created the first World Wide Web server and browser. It opened for commercial use in 1991 . In 1994 other advances took place, such as online banking and the opening of an online pizza shop by Pizza Hut. During that same year, Netscape introduced SSL encryption of data transferred online, which has become essential for secure online shopping. Also in 1994 the German company Intershop introduced its first online shopping system. In 1995 Amazon launched its online shopping site, and in 1996 eBay appeared.

Customers
Online customers must have access to a computer and a method of payment. In general, higher levels of education, income, and occupation of the head of the household correspond to more favorable perceptions of non-store shopping. Also, increased exposure to technology increases the probability of developing favorable attitudes towards new shopping channels.[2] In a December 2011 study Equation Research found that 87% of tablet users made an online transaction with their tablet device during the early holiday shopping season.

Logistics
Consumers find a product of interest by visiting the website of the retailer directly or by searching among alternative vendors using a shopping search engine. Once a particular product has been found on the web site of the seller, most online retailers use shopping cart software to allow the consumer to accumulate multiple items and to adjust quantities, like filling a physical shopping cart or basket in a conventional store. A "checkout" process follows (continuing the physical-store analogy) in which payment and delivery information is collected, if necessary. Some stores allow consumers to sign up for a permanent online account so that some or all of this information only needs to be entered once. The consumer often receives an e-mail confirmation once the transaction is complete. Less sophisticated stores may rely on consumers to phone or e-mail their orders (though credit card numbers are not accepted by e-mail, for security reasons).

Payment
Online shoppers commonly use a credit card to make payments, however some systems enable users to create accounts and pay by alternative means, such as: [4][5] Billing to mobile phones and landlines Cash on delivery (C.O.D., offered by very few online stores) Cheque/ Check Debit card Direct debit in some countries Electronic money of various types Gift cards Postal money order Wire transfer/delivery on payment Some sites will not accept international credit cards, some require both the purchaser's billing address and shipping address to be in the same country in which site does its business, and still other sites allow customers from anywhere to send gifts anywhere. The financial part of a transaction might be processed in real time (for

example, letting the consumer know their credit card was declined before they log off), or might be done later as part of the fulfillment process.

Product delivery
Once a payment has been accepted the goods or services can be delivered in the following ways. Downloading: This is the method often used for digital media products such as software, music, movies, or images. Drop shipping: The order is passed to the manufacturer or third-party distributor, who ships the item directly to the consumer, bypassing the retailer's physical location to save time, money, and space. In-store pickup: The customer orders online, finds a local store using locator software and picks the product up at the closest store. This is the method often used in the bricks and clicks business model. Printing out, provision of a code for, or emailing of such items as admission tickets and scrip (e.g., gift certificates and coupons). The tickets, codes, or coupons may be redeemed at the appropriate physical or online premises and their content reviewed to verify their eligility (e.g., assurances that the right of admission or use is redeemed at the correct time and place, for the correct dollar amount, and for the correct number of uses). Shipping: The product is shipped to the customer's address or that of a customer-designated third party. Will call, COBO (in Care Of Box Office), or "at the door" pickup: The patron picks up pre-purchased tickets for an event, such as a play, sporting event, or concert, either just before the event or in advance. With the onset of the Internet and e-commerce sites, which allow customers to buy tickets online, the popularity of this service has increased.

Shopping cart systems

Simple systems allow the offline administration of products and categories. The shop is then generated as HTML files and graphics that can be uploaded to a webspace. These systems do not use an online database. A high end solution can be bought or rented as a standalone program or as an addition to an enterprise resource planning program. It is usually installed on the company's own webserver and may integrate into the existing supply chain so that ordering, payment, delivery, accounting and warehousing can be automated to a large extent. Other solutions allow the user to register and create an online shop on a portal that hosts multiple shops at the same time. Open source shopping cart packages include advanced platforms such as Interchange, and off the shelf solutions as Avactis, Satchmo, osCommerce, Magento, Zen Cart, VirtueMart, Batavi and PrestaShop. Commercial systems can also be tailored to one's needs so the shop does not have to be created from scratch. By using a pre-existing framework, software modules for various functionalities required by a web shop can be adapted and combined.

Online shopping
Like many online auction websites, many websites allow small businesses to create and maintain online shops (ecommerce online shopping carts), without the complexity that involved in purchasing and developing an expensive stand aloneecommerce software solutions.

LIMITATION OF THE PROJECT

LIMITATIONS,PERILS AND DANGERS OF ONLINE SHOPPING

Scams and internet fraud is no more news in the internet world. Scammers have gone deep online. Millions of dollars are reported every day of the year to be lost by innocent souls. Men and women are duped online every day without any form of comfort in their lives. Since the internet is for all and sundry, excessive exposure to it could be dangerous and risky. The problem with online shopping ranges from A to Z. They are avoidable if they are known. It should be clear that not everybody online is there to buy or sell real products. Some are there for fraud and online scams. I am a victim of such disaster before I learnt my lesson in the hard way. Internet fraud is all over my dear reader. As earlier quipped, internet fraud is very common on the internet market. Online shopping is characterized with internet catastrophes. Since online shopping in the most popular means of shopping, it is important to note that everybody is now online. Exposure of the internet is now the avenue for some weaklings and indolent people to fraud innocent shopping seekers. One need to be on the watch out against internet fraud when one is sincerely going for online shopping.

Poor network server.

Sometimes in developing countries of the world has poor network provider. It could in such a way limit

ones online shopping in any form. News has made it clear that internet connections are faster than each other; some are very slow while some are time wasters to say.

Goods in transit
Goods might be declared in transit when been tracked on the internet. This is a great limitation. This hinders the buyer to receive the good at the stipulated time. He receives such goods very late at the eleventh hour. It is very common to almost all shops. Steps are on to set everything in the right order. Currency barrier Not every country in the world has the same currency. Dollars are popularly used but some countries have no access to dollars. This has limited online shopping in the recent years. There are limitations. There are dangerous strives. There are perils. Language could also limit online shopping. Before you pay for anything online. WATCH!

CONTENTS OF THE PROJECT

With popular trends and demands the concept of the Internet as the way forward to increase profit margins, companies new and old are creating websites here and there.

The significance for retailers to having a web site is that a web site is informational and transactional in nature (Murphy, 1998). As the web site can be used for advertising and direct marketing; sales; customer support and public relations.

Significantly according to a study by McKinsey & Company and Salomon Smith Barney, E-tailers who sell to their customers through catalogues; stores, and online significantly emerge victorious amid the e-tail shake out (Pastore, 2000).

With seasonal events and holidays, the Internet has become a tool for a quick and stress free method of shopping. Allowing retailers to cash in the profit from another useful shopping channel. Jupiter Research expects 2003s online holiday sales to be led by new shoppers, resulting in a 21 percent increase over 2002 figures (Greenspan, 2003). The growth in holiday sales is driven by factors such as, online bargains; time saving; avoiding holiday crowds and much more.

The top categories of Online Sales according to comScore Networks, (Freedman, 2002) are: Computer Hardware and Software Apparel and Accessories Office Supplies Books, Music and Movies Consumer Electronics Home and Garden Health and Beauty Gifting Sporting Goods Toys and Games Autos Pets

Freedman argues that as more consumers are able to connect to faster Internet connections categories such as Apparel may experience growth

SCOPE OF APPLICATION
Today the internet and its boom have created a new economic scenario that not only stresses on the classical concept of the product but also on the modern concept of service. It is this level of service that dictates whether a commercial venture will succeed or not in the market. To provide a high accessibility of service we will design the Online market, a eCommerce web portal, so that potential customers need not go to a physical shop to buy products or services. They just need to be online to complete their purchases. Unlike the prevailing brick and mortar shops which have physical existence, we will operate solely from cyberspace. Shopping will be highly personalized and the site will provide lower prices than most competitors. Most current systems have a physical foundation that is the root cause to quite a number of problems. By maintaining multiple store fronts, itself being an expensive proposition, store prices are forced to rise. Thus, by using our product, our clients competitors are at a disadvantage because their costs are significantly higher than our costs, allowing our clients to sell the same goods at a lower price. As people become more accustomed to using the internet, they view ordering products and services online as a time-saving and costsaving experience, which is the very essence of our application. Also the customer gets multiple choices at the same front from which he can select what he wants.
