Taking Refuge and Generating Bodhichitta
To the Enlightened Ones, the Dharma, and the Spiritual Community
Until Enlightenment I go for refuge.
By the spiritual energy of this practice
May I attain Enlightenment for the benefit of all.

Light shines from a moon disc at my heart, inviting Golden Tara whose crown is adorned by the
Guru appearing as Amitabha, surrounded by the host of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.

The Seven Limb Prayer
I prostrate and make offerings to the Three Supreme Jewels;
I confess all non-virtuous actions;
I rejoice in the virtues of others;
I request the turning of the wheel of Dharma;
I ask the gurus not to enter Nirvana;
I dedicate all virtues to the cause of Enlightenment for all sentient beings.

Meditating on the Four Immeasurable Attitudes
May all beings have happiness and its causes.
May they never have suffering or its causes.
May they constantly dwell in joy transcending sorrow.
May they dwell in equal love for both near and far.

Self-generation as Golden Tara
OM SVABHAVA SHUDDHA SARVA DHARMA SVABHAVA SHUDDHO HAM
All phenomena are empty of inherent existence.
Everything becomes empty. From within the sphere of emptiness there appears the syllable PAM P.
This transforms into a lotus bearing the syllable AH
A
. AH
A
transforms into a radiantly white moon-
like cushion that covers the stamen of the lotus. Above this is the golden syllable TAM
T
, the sound of
which is the resonance of the ultimate nature of my own mind.
Lights radiate forth from the TAM
T
, delighting all Enlightened beings and fulfilling the needs of all
living beings.
From this Tam
T
, I instantly transform into holy Golden Tara, whose mind is beyond samsara.
My body is golden in colour, and my face reflects a warmly serene smile.
My right hand is in the mudra of Supreme Generosity and holds a prosperity vase.
My left hand is in the mudra of Bestowing Refuge.
The thumb and ring finger of my left hand hold the stem of an utpala flower that opens into a blossom
above my left shoulder.
I am clothed in silken garments and am adorned by precious ornaments.
I sit in the heroine posture.
My face is serene yet vivacious. Having attained immortality, I have an OM

at my crown chakra, AH
A
at my throat chakra, and HUM I at my heart chakra.
Inviting the Initiation Deities
Light shines from my heart, inviting the Initiation Deities from their natural abodes.
OM VAJRA SAMAJAH JAH HUM BAM HO
Granting Initiaton and Adorning the Crown
I request all the Tathagatas:
Please bestow the empowerment upon me.
The Initiation Deities reply:
Just as all the Tathagatas granted ablution
At the moment of Buddhas birth
Likewise do we now grant ablution
With the pure nectar of the gods.

As the mantra is recited, they grant the initiation, completely filling my body with nectar and purifying
me of stains. The excess nectar flowing on my crown transforms into Amitabha Buddha who becomes
my crown ornament.
Praise to Oneself as Golden Tara
Homage to you who are able to summon
All the directional guardians and their retinues.
Frowning and shaking, with the letter HUM I,
You rescue all from their misfortune.

The Seven Limb Prayer
I make each and every offering,
Both actually performed and mentally transformed;
I declare every non-virtuous action since beginningless time;
I rejoice in the virtues of all holy and ordinary beings.
Please, Guru, remain as our guide through samsara,
And turn the wheel of Dharma for all sentient beings.
I dedicate my own virtues and those of others
To cultivate the Enlightenment.

Light in the form of iron hooks radiates in the ten directions from the TAM

letter , the mantra on the
moon disc at my heart and from the prosperity vase. The light brings back good fortune, prosperity
from the three realms

and blessings from the Pure Lands of the Buddhas.

Requests to Golden Tara
Divine, Compassionate, Transcendental Mother,
Help me and all sentient beings purify in our mind streams
All interferences to liberation and omniscience.
Help us to realise the two paths of method and wisdom,
And cultivate the awakened mind of a Buddha.
Help me find divine bliss and human happiness
As I cultivate omniscience on this awakening path.
Please help me to overcome all obstacles and hindrances,
Such as harmful spirits causing inauspicious omens, bad dreams,
The eight fears, plagues, sickness, and untimely death.
Please support my well-being, my perfections,
And auspicious qualities so that they increase and flower.
Guide me with your blessings as I devote myself
With diligence, cultivating the awakening mind
Through this most sacred Dharma.
As I undertake this practice with mindfulness
To see without duality your sublime face,
Help me to ripen my insight of emptiness and dependent-arising
As I methodically cultivate the awakening mind.
In the presence of Buddha Amitabha
And the joyous, noble Mandala of the Budhha
Bless me with your divine inspiration and foresight
May I take rebirth from a pure, beautiful lotus
With the awakened mind of Golden Tara.
By the force of my offerings and requests to you.
Please help remove all diseases, poverty, conflicts, and quarrels.
Please make the Dharma and all thats auspicious increase
Throughout the lands and directions in our midst and far away.

Praise to Golden Tara
Homage to Arya Tara, at whose lotus feet
The gods and non-gods make worship.
Homage to Tara, mother of all Buddhas,
Who heralds freedom from limitation.
Homage to Tara, a beyond-samsara goddess
Whose form is delightful to perceive
And whose precious ornaments shine with splendour
Like stars reflected from an emerald mountain.
Requesting Golden Tara to Fulfill our Wishes
Please accept this torma offering from we yogis and yoginis.
May we all gain freedom from sickness.
May we also gain long life, fame, good fortune, and abundant wealth.
Please bestow on us the powerful attainments of the actions
Of pacifying, increasing, and so forth.
Oath-bound Protectors, please protect us.
Please help us attain all powerful attainments.
Please keep us from untimely death,
Sickness, demons, and interfering spirits.
Please see that we have no bad dreams, ill omens, or calamities.
May we have worldly happiness, good crops, and harvests,
May the Dharma flourish, all goodness and joy come about.
And may all the wishes within our minds be fulfilled.
Requesting Forbearance

MANUPALAYA PADMASATTVA
TVENOPATISHTA DRIDHO ME BHAVA,
SUTOSHYO ME BHAVA,

Whatever mistakes I have made
Through not finding, not understanding
Or not having the ability
Please Protector,
Be patient with all of these.

By the meritorious energy of my meditation on Golden Tara,
The beyond-samsara goddess,
May all countless sentient beings
Be led by the energy of the Enlightened Ones
Into Buddhahood.
Auspicious Prayers
May there be the auspiciousness of Golden Tara
From whom I have received blessings in previous lives.
Appearing in your golden-coloured aspect,
With one face and two hands,
Holding a prosperity vase in your right hand
and an uptala flower in your left hand,
You are the embodiment of the Buddhas of the three times.
